Looking at that list only reminds me of how many I have yet to see. I remember seeing Kiki twice, once as a kid (my brother owns the American release of it) and later the Japanese version when I was older. I also recall seeing Mononoke-hime when I was a kid and not recalling much except that Gillian Anderson played a big wolf. I've seen bits and pieces of others, mostly Miyazaki's works, from when my brother was watching them, but I can't really count those.

Relatively recently, I've seen Only Yesterday, Pom Poko, Ponyo, and Arrietty (which isn't on the list, but the list is very good, besides a few). As much as I like Miyzaki's fantastic works, I really like the co-founder, Takahata's works because of their realism. Though they number few in the list (Fireflies, Only Yesterday, Pom Poko, Yamadas), of the two I've seen and the one I've heard of, I enjoy watching his films.

For me it's a tough decision between Pom Poko, Kiki, and Only Yesterday. I'll go with Pom Poko since I want to give it a chance in the polls since most probably haven't seen it (though they did release it in the west, calling them raccoons with pouches. ). I should watch more though, just as much as I should probably watch more Disney classics.

I would recommend watching the Japanese versions, if one was interested, though. Even if subs aren't your thing, I find it more natural. Not to mention that on these films yanks tend to hire Disney stars and that just makes it kind of strange to listen to. I'm biased though.
