Step 1) Open up your music player or mp3 playing device
Step 2) Set your device to shuffle (or some option to randomize song choice)
Step 3) Post the first 10 songs that show up. No cheating - you must post them no matter how embarrassing they are.
Good luck

> Not randomly choosing Neutral Milk Hotel's best song, the eponymous one from their best album
My little hipster can't be this pleb
In all seriousness, though, this is a difficult endeavour as I have songs I rarely listen to and songs and genres I only listen to at certain times, using several folders as interchangeable records. To get something that defines my taste, it has to be somewhat handpicked, to some degree. I guess we're not trying for that, but still.
I keep composing lists, then hating them for being too biased. I can't do it. It can't be helped.

please, neutral milk hotel's best song is 'king of carrot flowers part 2 & 3' (or maybe 'holland, 1945')
and 'in the aeroplane over the sea' may be the most popular (both album & song), but that doesn't mean they're the best—though not say that they're not really good
c'mon, brian
also, calling people 'plebian' is rude

I recently switched laptops, so I do not have access to my collection of ~2,000,000 songs to shuffle through. Instead, you will be graced with knowing 10 songs from my cell phone.
1 Eye of the Beholder-Metallica
2 The Beautiful People-Marilyn Manson
3 Abandoned, Brainwashed, Pleased, Exploited-Sonata Arctica
4 San Sebastian-Sonata Arctica
5 Weballergy-Sonata Arctica
6 Say Goodnight-Bullet For My Valentine
7 The Last Day of Earth-Marilyn Manson
8 Breakfast (Syrup)-Kreayshawn feat. 2 Chainz
9 Land of the Free-Sonata Arctica
10 Kingdom for a Heart-Sonata Arctica
Aaaand since my song finished, let's shuffle my Windows Media Player with what little I put on it.
11 Summertime-My Chemical Romance
12 Cemetery Gates-Power Quest
13 I Don't Believe In Friends Forever-Power Quest
14 Supergig-The Verve Pipe
15 Strikeforce-Power Quest
16 Breakfast (Syrup)-Kreayshawn feat. 2 Chainz
17 Folkin' Around-Panic at the Disco
18 Left Ey3-Kreayshawn
19 Reflection-NCB
20 Cattle-The Verve Pipe
Smithy, it enhances. You clearly win best list.

Here goes nothing.
Surfin' USA - The Beach Boys
If We've Ever Needed You - Casting Crowns
La Source - Albert Zabel
Mr. Postman - The Marvelettes
Giving You All Control - Jeremy Camp
Piano Concerto No. 1 in B Minor. Andantino. Op. 23, No. 2 - Slovak Philharmonic (Tchaikovsky)
Adeste Fidelis - Andrea Bocelli
In the Mood - Glenn Miller
Fallen - Sarah McLachlan
Gavotte - Alexander Sitkovesky (Prokofiev)
I was surprised to find so much presence from the 50s in that list...
And in other news, I have an obvious preference for Russian composers. haha Unfortunately, my first 10 seem to be void of anything contemporarily "awesome".
P.S. That Sitkovesky guy is a phenomenal violinist. Highly recommend.
