The Poll refers to the "Best Picture" category, but feel free to comment on any category. I think Leonardo DiCaprio should DEFINITELY win this year for Best Actor in a Leading Role, along with The Wolf of Wall Street!
Here are my picks so far...
Best Picture - The Wolf of Wall Street
Best Actor in a Leading Role - Leonardo DiCaprio (The Wolf of Wall Street)
Best Actress in a Leading Role - Sandra Bullock (Gravity)
Best Actor in a Supporting Role - Barkhad Abdi (Captain Phillips) - (though I wouldn't mind Jonah Hill either)
Best Actress in a Supporting Role - No opinion
Best Animated Feature - TBD
Best Cinematography - Prisoners (Roger A. Deakins)
Best Costume Design - American Hustle (Michael Wilkinson)
Best Director - Gravity (Alfonso Cuarón) OR The Wolf of Wall Street (Martin Scorsese)
Best Documentary Feature - Dirty Wars (Richard Rowley, Jeremy Scahill)
Best Foreign Language Film - The Hunt (Denmark)

I'm absolutely rooting for WoWS as well as Dicaprio and Hill, but it has absolutely no shot. Its best chance will be in the extremely stacked adapted screenplay category. I'm really bummed that Prisoners got effectively shut out.
There are some categories that are ridiculous and missing a lot of great potential nominees but some are pretty weak.
Best Picture: 12 Years a Slave
Best Director: Alphonso Cuaron(Gravity)
Best Actor: Matthew. McConaughey(Dallas Buyers Club)
Best Actress: Cate Blanchett(Blue Jasmine)
Best Supporting Actor: Jared Leto(Dallas Buyers Club)
Best Supporting Actress: Lupita Nyong'o(12 Years a Slave)
Best Adapted Screenplay: Terence Winter(Wolf of Wall Street)
Best Original Screenplay: Spike Jonze(Her)
Best Animated Feature: Frozen
Best Foreign Language Film: The Hunt
Best Documentary Feature: Dirty Wars
Best Cinematography: Prisoners(Roger Deakins) I'm just an ordinary average guy with nothing to lose.
Prisoners was probably the best movie of the year.... Wolf on Wall Street was a close second. What a shame.
I agree that I'm probably going to be mostly wrong since the 'academy' tends to vote for whatever hipster wave is out there, but these are my 'hopefuls' at least. Though if there is any justice in the world, Leo will win this year. "Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. Only seen two of the nominees captain phillips was one of the best movies I've ever seen... better than any of the noms last year imo Happy ever after in the marketplace, Desmond lets the children lend a hand. Molly stays at home and does her pretty face, and in the evening she's the singer with the band!
