The poll refers to the question on the sport which is the hardest to win, but I want this discussion to also be open to questioning what the easiest would be too.
I heard some sports casters talking on the radio about what the hardest OR easiest championship to win is.
They mentioned that the Superbowl was DEFINITELY the hardest one to win among the big 4 (in North America). I believe it is actually the easiest. So I thought I would throw this question out to my fellow Brainglers, and throw in the World Cup just to appease the Europeans who don't watch sports.
I believe that the Stanley Cup is the hardest to win. To win the Super Bowl, you only need to win a few games in a row by fluke, and you can win it. Whereas with the Stanley Cup, you need to win multiple 7-game series. Not only is there far more physical work involved, but the odds of losing by sheer luck are greatly reduced in comparison to the NFL.
Let's share our opinions.
I'm using your own Super Bowl words against you. One bad play and you could be done and knocked right out of the playoffs. It's certainly not the easiest one. If you look at the odds only, World Cup is the hardest and the World Series is the easiest. I believe that the NBA is the easiest as there are rarely surprises. NFL usually is pretty straightforward and every team in the playoffs has a legit shot. World Series is another thing where every team really has a shot. That leaves the two Cups. NHL has the most wild cards by far but just EIGHT teams have won the World Cup. I gotta go with the World Cup on this one.
