The new date? May 21
Get ready kids, because billboards are popping up around the globe, including in major Canadian cities, proclaiming May 21 as Judgment Day. "Cry mightily unto GOD for HIS mercy," says one of the mounted signs from Family Radio, a California-based sectarian Christian group that is sending one of its four travelling caravans of believers into Vancouver and Calgary within the next 10 days.
The group behind it is called Family Radio and identifies itself on its website as a "non-profit, non-commercial, Christian radio network" set up in 1958 with one FM station in the San Francisco Bay area. From that station bought by Harold Camping and two others "with the sole intent of proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ," it has grown to a network of 66 stations through the U.S. It also broadcasts its programming internationally.
On its website, Family Radio says May 21 as Judgment Day is "derived solely from evidence found in the Bible."
"Mr. Camping saw God had placed, in scripture, many important signs and proofs. These proofs alert believers that May 21st of 2011 is the date Christ will return for His people and begin a period of the final destruction of the world." All will be over on Oct. 21, "when God will completely destroy this earth and its surviving inhabitants," the website says.
However, this isn't the first time Camping has predicted the end of the world. He also targeted 1994 as a probable time, but on the website, Family Radio says, "important subsequent Biblical information was not yet known."

As a Christian, I believe that there will be a judgement day. But, how could any one person predict when the day will be?
~Unless, of course, God gave you the power to be a prophet/prophetess.
I'm going to continue living my life on the edge and love every step of the way, even if hard times are included.

 I heard the same thing, but I thought you said "Fast and Prey"! I laughed until I cried! Then I cried until I could laugh again!

Always this nonsense about the end of the world. Isn't it enough that people will blather on about it next year? Do we really need one this year as well?
The worst part is that this idiot's tried it before. And then he gets popular again. Really humanity? Why are we so blind? Well, I guess he could be right this time around. [Better check his math though, I hear he's dreadful at it]
What happens when he's wrong? He plans for the next big grab at attention? 
Although my dad makes light of it, he also made sure to remind me what to do in case of an earthquake.  Aya. I already know that. What I really want to know is how to kill a blood-thirsty warrior-angel. That's information that should be released.

You think the people who suggested this were idiots?
They made hundreds of thousands of people who followed them believe the world was ending, and therefore those people should send them money. The craziness of their claim gave them WORLD attention and loads of public exposure. I bet the donations were big too, because if the end was coming anyway - there would be no need for jobs or a livelihood. And those people would give them free marketing by preaching around the world.
These guys are genius con artists. Not idiots.
