Don't you hate trying to solve all of those cryptography teasers when you are reviewing or editing? I know I do. That's why I created the Cryptogram Checker/Creator tool. You plug in the body of the teaser and the given code, and it gives you the decrypted text. If it's wrong, the author needs to change it. (Just remember that the order of the code may be reversed to how you think it should work.)
The will also help people create cryptography teasers. The fill in the sentence and the code, and out will come a verifiable encryption.
This tool was written independently of Braingle, so if there is a problem with it, contact me, don't go bugging the editors or Jake.

Wow, this is going to be very helpful while reviewing! Thanks, Phrebh!

More interesting...and far more challenging...would be to write an automatic solver. Or have you already, Phrebh?

What's the point? There's tons of them available for free.

Ah...well...I suppose there would be. But then again, wouldn't there already be tons of encoders available for free, too?

Not that let you choose the code. Anyway, the tool is more for checking than creating. You can use a replace command (carefully) in any text editor to create them.

I have created teasers using your programme too, phrebh. It's really useful!

Thanks, that's awesome! I'm a reviewer, but I'm really not a big fan of crypography teasers, so maybe this'll help! =)

I use the Crypto solver, but whenever I type something in Q and translate it, the letter in Q always dissapears.

Yes, but I'm not going to be doing that. The tool is designed for classic cryptograms. Straight letter substitution only.

I fixed the code so that it no longer puts in backslashes when you use quotation marks or apostrophes.

I've updated the tool so that you don't have to type each item of the key if you are checking a teaser, you can just copy the key from the teaser.
It will also tell you if some of the key items aren't used.
