So I just recently got a PM that was like oh here's my email. Email me so I can send you pictures and stuff. I want to know more about you. I though it was really creepy so I reported it. Should I have done that?

If you did not know this person or befriended them while either playing a game or in the chat room, then by all means report them. This site has had some spammers, though Jake and the moderators do work hard to try and keep it clear of them.
Your personal email address should never be given out to "strangers" because there are so many email spams that can be sent that could damage your computer, and of course there could be people who are trying to befriend minors for the wrong reason. If and when you decide to send your personal email to someone, it should be because you have shared enough time on Braingle with them to trust them... but again, only do it with a grain of salt. And just because you want to be friends with everyone, it shouldn't mean you should open your personal email account or personal information to everyone.
I have been on Braingle quite a few years, and only 2 people other than the Braingle owner have my personal email address. I can use chat or the private messaging of Braingle to "talk" to everyone on Braingle that I might like to learn more about and get to know.
I also know Braingle is now on Facebook... that site has ways to interact with individuals on a personal level also.
Good luck, and be careful.

Thank you very much for the long post! I did NOT share my email, seeing as I know what can happen.
This might not be in my place for me to be asking this (and I understand if you can't answer this), but what will happen to the user since I reported him/her. (I never looked at the name.)
All I did was open the PM, read it, report it, and delete it.

Thanks Crazy... it's not that I can't... it's because I don't know what is the answer is to your question. When you report it, it goes back to "the boss" Jake, the owner of this site and possibly to one or two other individuals who he has entrusted with this procedure. Not all moderators have this capability, and frankly, I think that is a good thing. However, I am sure your report will be looked at and recorded. although you may not see what you might consider immediate action, as one report may not trigger action against the person you reported. A second report on this person, by either you or another, may produce a warning or another act that is warranted based on the infraction.
My best advice in this instance is that you did everything right in what you did, so fret not... and unless this person starts to bother you with additional PM's... don't let this bother you anymore... enjoy Braingle!
