Check out my siggy...there is my response. I've had this quote for a while and it fits with the topic.
As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of mere being. Carl Jung |

For me it's one of these three, it's either
EVERYTHING is inevitable.
Everything we do &are going to do is going to happen no matter what,
so the meaning of life, if this were true, is to just do whatever you do cause you're going to do it anyways.
or
The meaning of life is to give life meaning
,,there's an infinite amount of ways to give life meaning
&I suppose, for some, just being given a life to live is enough meaning.
or
We're simply just here, for whatever amount of time, doing whatever we end up doing,
& that nothing means anything
Basically the first one and third one are kind of the same but with the third one we have a choice in whether or not we pick up a pen or pencil & it does effect the future in different ways depending on your choice,, but since it doesn't really mean anything who cares....
With the first one we're going to pick up the pencil no matter what(it's already "planned out" bound to happen) we think we have a choice but we really don't,,
sitting here thinking about all this is starting to get too complex.......
I am now going to give up on trying to explain the meaning of life
lol 42 .....that's what they want you to think

To immortalise the spirit of our ancestors and the teachings of Confucius.

I think the meaning of life is love. Without love, life is pretty much meaningless.
Take all sorrow out of life and you take away all richness, and depth, and tenderness. The capacity of sorrow belongs to our grandeur. It is the furnace that melts hearts together in love. In loving memory of my dear friend Guy - take care Goobs . . |

According to my high school biology book, the PURPOSE of life is to reproduce. Pass our genetics through the generations, so we as a species can live on. And what is the meaning behind this purpose? I think snowmoster summed it up pretty well, but also fellowship.
"Being a man is not measured in how much one can lift, but in how much one can love." - Andrew Walker[|] A scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, curtious, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverant. I am an Eagle Scout. |

I believe that we each have our own meaning, our own purpose to live on this Earth. People who commit suicide have lost track of that meaning. Like snowmonster said (sort of), if we have love we do not lose track of our meaning. I believe that as our personalities were created by the people around us, their personalities were created by the people around them, and so on back to the first man. We are meant to be around certain people at certain times that influence our personalities. Our personalities are what determines every single thing we do. When we are put on Earth, we have a predetermined meaning. Each of us influences the world in a tiny way. The world is like clockwork, and we are the grease that keeps it going. Whoever put us here tries to give each of us love, so we can fulfill our destiny. Sometimes they fail at that, and we do not accomplish our purpose. For example, the person who was going to kill Hitler before the Holocaust might have been neglected accidentally. Then, Hitler was given neglect on purpose so that he would kill himself. Or, maybe the Jews were going to do something bad and Hitler committed suicide because someone saw that if he went on, he would kill a lot of innocent people too.
