Michigan is a simple game with the somewhat unique characteristic that play does not proceed in order around the table. Instead, you play your card when the rules dictate, even if this means playing twice in a row, or skipping an entire round.
All of the cards are dealt out to the players, including an extra hand which is called the "dead hand". A player begins by selecting a suit and placing the lowest card in their hand from that suit onto the table. The person who has the next highest card of that suit continues by playing that card. If nobody has the next card, because it is an Ace or because it's in the dead hand, then the round is over. The last person who played a card, starts the next round in the same way. The first person to get rid of all their cards is the winner.
