Solitaire is a general term that refers to any card game that can be played by 1 person. There are many different types of Solitaire that you can play. Klondike is perhaps the most popular type of Solitaire and is what most people think of when they hear the word "Solitaire", so we are listing the rules for Klondike below.
Taking a standard deck of playing cards (without Jokers) one upturned card is dealt on the left of the playing area, then six downturned cards (from left to right). On top of the downturned cards, an upturned card is dealt on the left-most downturned pile, and downturned cards on the rest until all piles have an upturned card.
An additional four empty foundations are built up by suit from Ace to King, and the tableau piles can be built down by alternate colors, and partial or complete piles can be moved if they are built down by alternate colors also. Any empty piles can be filled with a King or a pile of cards with a King at the top. [Wikipedia]

I know what you mean Jake! I've also wasted tons of time playing different versions of Solitaire when I should have been doing something else! 
It would be interesting to calculate how much money is lost each year by companies whose employees are playing solitaire. I'll bet its a huge number.
This is by far one of the funnest card games, and it is very classic. I admit I have spent tons of time playing this game on my computer, actually I play it when braingle isn't working or my Internet isn't working.
This is a really fun game. It probably is a large number of money lost by companies playing solitaire.
I've wasted so much time playing tetris when I should have been doing homework or something else.
I love solitaire...it's so much fun. I play it on my iPod sometimes....

I have played Solitare ever since I was a kid with real cards...then they put it on the computer...how cool was that!?!?!?! So, like everyone else, while I was supposed to be working, I was playing Solitare. Now, I don't work and I STILL play all the time. Like if I'm waiting for something to download or if nothing is interesting on the computer!!! 
I love Solitaire so much that when I was about 8 or 10, I got a book... "something like 100 games of Hoyle Solitaire"... Don't know what happened to it, but I learned lots of different games and love when someone brings them up online.
How many teasers would have been rated and reviewed and voted and commented on if it weren't for solitaire?

I always have my Solitiare window open on my computer...played at work and now I still play at home, on the computer and with real cards...but I like the computer version better and my computer has like a bazillion versions...haven't tried this on yet...

Okay i found the games, but there is no solitaire, why is that? I mean why list it in the card games menu for us to talk about but not have the actual game? Makes no sense to me!!! : (

I can't find the solitaire game either, but looking back kup, neither can anybody else, so... was there even supposed to be a solitaire game? If so, where is it? If not, I think that we all agree that there should be a link to a website that does solitaire.

I wonder how many human hours have been wasted by the world playing this game? I have to admit that I have spent many an hour clicking away at this game instead of working on Braingle.
