Unfortunately, since no one was able to crack the cipher, we have lost two agents in the past day. Uloseha died, sending us the telegram asking for our help. She had insight that we needed, men. But out of confusion, we took her out. And Limerick, who came so close to saving her with that cipher was killed in the night because they knew he was too powerful. I can only hope we can do better today, men. I hate watching our brothers disappear one-by-one.

Fortunately, I found this on a piece of parchment slipped under my office door:

vier. dos. punkt. sept. zwei. ocho. sechs. huit. neun. / minus. ocho. vier. point. vier. siete. sechs. huit. drei. tres.

Men- you know what to do.

Wow, sorry to see Limerick go, especially on his Birthday. Tomorrow I'm goint to start recording everything in my notebook and see what pops out at me. As for the cipher, I'll see what I can do on that as well.

I am sorry to see Limerick go, also. He's always active and talkative, which can definitely be helpful. That's probably what the spies were afraid of. However, it does appear that the round timed out. I don't think that's of much help to us, though, considering that it seems the only one who hasn't logged in during the night round was Kaipper (last on two days ago). I know several of these players, and if any of the ones that I know are wolves, they wouldn't jeopardize clearing an inactive. That being said, Kaipper isn't really at the top of my list just because she wasn't on during the night.

I have also been working on the cipher, but no luck yet. It's a combination of Spanish, French, and German numbers (and a couple words). I need to head for bed, but I will see what I can do in the morning.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! LIMERICK!!!!

They always die so young I have to say, good move on the spies side, Limerick was the one who obviously out of all of us would try the hardest to solve the ciphers! He will be forever in our hearts, men.

As for the cipher,: 4,2, point, 7, 2, 8, 6, 8, 9/ minus, 8, 4, point, 4, 7, 6, 8, 3, 3

Basicly saying: 42.728689/ -84.476833, which equals -0.50580363257, this means nothing, so maybe it's in the languages.

vier = german, dos = spanish, punkt = german, sept = french, zwei = german , huit = french, neun = german, minus = english, ocho = spanish, siete = spanish, drei = german, tres = spanish.

No idea what to make of this, but it's what Limerick would have wanted *sniff*

Sucks that Limerick got eaten... He did seem to be really trying hard at the clues...

I see the numbers (and few words)... It's just a matter of figuring out what they mean... Appreciate the recap in remembering my counting in other languages (lol)... I couldn't get them all off of the top of my head (I don't know how to count in French), but it was fun to remember the german and spanish numbers...

They're coordinates, located in Lansing, Michigan, that take you to an auditorium by the intersection of Farm Lane and Auditorium Road.

How the European countries tie into it, I'm not yet sure.

Let's examine the order of languages used: vier. dos. punkt. sept. zwei. ocho. sechs. huit. neun. / minus. ocho. vier. point. vier. siete. sechs. huit. drei. tres.

German, Spanish, German, French, German, Spanish, German, French, German. (next string)
English, Spanish, German, English, German, Spanish, German, French, German, French.

(Sly forgot to mention that "sechs" is also German.)

German appears -almost- every other word, except for the first part of line two. But there's a definite pattern in the first line, especially considering that the other languages, Spanish and French, are used alternately between the German words/numbers.

K... So let me ask this... Do we even know what we're looking for? Were we looking for that location, are we looking for a word, are we looking for a phrase or a number? Like... What is the result we're looking for? And how would we know how far to keep searching? Cuz I noticed the Lansing thing, but wasn't sure if there's more to it or not...

Unfortunately, no, I'm not at all sure what more we're to get from that. Since those numbers (presumably coordinates, as I don't know what else they could be), are the only thing that's in this clue, I don't have any idea what to do now. (I'm going to just call it a "clue", even if it's not the OFFICIAL clue.)

I can only assume that the languages, and possibly the frequency or pattern of their appearance in the cipher, have something to do with it as well. I'm not done yet, not by a long shot.

The auditorium at MSU is used for their Theatre program... Is there something that connects the German, Spanish, French thing to their theatre program?

I checked their web site, but I don't see that any of the plays that they are doing are directly relating to Germany, France, and Spain...

Are we over thinking this one like we did the last one? or are we just not going far enough?

Per tuku's comment near the bottom of round zero of this game, tuku attends MSU, and per her profile, she is involved in theater. I'm thinking this might be the right path to go down.

does this auditorium perchance have a name? At the time of this writing(note), only one person has voted so far (Innovative for Faith). Not sure of the significance of that, but since I will be busy for the next couple of days and am only good for the latter stages of the game (no good at puzzles so the first part is a washout for me), I will put in an SPV at random.

It does... From what I can tell it's MSU Auditorium/Fairchild Theatre... Although one page said those were 2 separate venues, and another site made it seem like it was the same (with the slash)...

That's a good find, Mocha, that the Mod went to MSU and is in theater (and her page says she is a Traveler, too)... But still not sure what answer we are looking for... But I've tried...

Waiting to vote until we see if someone can get the clue

I remember my German teacher saying at one point that German, Spanish, and French are all very similar, so I did a quick search only to find they aren't in the same family (German is Germanic, the other two are Neo-Latin)...so no relation there.

Does anybody know if night took the full time or ended early? That might give us a hint.

I wasn't on around that time, but since night ending is delayed by several hours, all the wolves might have ended up voting anyway. I think after another night round it should be easier to determine if one of the wolves is skipping out based on when everyone last logged on. Doesn't help with voting this round, though :/

Heh, I'm a first-year German student...seeing a language clue was nice! (And it pleases me that I can understand your signature, lol.) I'm wondering if the languages might be a red herring, though? The MSU thing made me think maybe a wolf is attending there, but only two people including myself have "student" listed as their occupation, and both of us are too young to be in college. Then again, there are a few people who don't have any occupation listed. I'm going to wait to vote.

I agree, Kaipper, that they might have all voted, the last just under the wire. I seem to remember that when I have been a wolf, I was able to vote for my top two and that did not lock in my vote and trigger the night to end. Not until all three wolves voted for all three places. Or maybe I'm just remembering incorrectly, it has been 3 years since the last time I was a wolf.

Faith, I didn't have much luck, either. I am hoping that someone already got it who is better at decoding Tuku's clues because I believe that the clue isn't allowed to be posted in-game (at least, I think that's what Tuku said in Round 0).

We really don't seem to have a lot to go on. I will keep the cipher on my mind, and maybe something will dawn on me.

From tuku's post at the beginning, it seems U. was a human as well as Limerick (of course). This is unfortunate, but does not really surprise me since the only reason for voting u. was inactivity, which has nothing to do with being a spy.

I still have no clue who I want to vote for, but there will be plenty of time for that in the morning. I'll keep working on the puzzle as well, will see where I get, but I'm not hopeful.

The clue is not allowed to be posted in the game. However, if someone receives the clue they are allowed to tell people that they received it, if they want to. And if they decipher the clue, they are allowed to say that they deciphered the clue and tell people the answer. BUT I am not confirming any answers to the clue so they may have deciphered the clue incorrectly. And since I am not informing you of whether the clue has been given out, someone could possibly say they got it and solved it, when they did not.

I am also no longer posting answers to the ciphers. I posted the first one because people seemed to not understand what was expected of them.

Since we still don't know the answer to the cipher (at least most of us, anyway), we may have to vote without it. Granted, there's still plenty of time. Problem is, the Limerick eating doesn't point to anyone in particular, since everyone could clearly see how valuable he was to us. When he posted the words in a three-column layout, all anyone had to do was read down the third column, and there it was, plain as day. I'm still kicking myself for not having seen it when it mattered.

Now then. I am almost 100% certain that night timed out on its own. I was on when night had just one hour left, and Witty and mocha's posts are just one hour after that. What are the odds that the wolves voted, and the delay caused night to end exactly when it normally would have? Slim to none. That leaves Kaipper as the only suspect, albeit a very weak one, since she hadn't been on. However, as Witty pointed out, the other wolves may have let night time out intentionally so as not to clear her. Beyond that, I have absolutely no idea who to vote, and I don't want to vote Kaipper just for that reason.

For the record, I edit my posts whenever I find something that I feel is poorly worded or left out. I'm a bit of a stickler for that.

Man... That sucks that we won't get the answer (cuz that's gonna bother me to not know what I'm missing)... Will we get the answers when the game is over?

We've only got 15 hours left to come up with something... What sucks is that I don't know if someone got the clue, and that's why my answers are being rejected, or if my answers were just wrong (probably the latter, but still)...

But I'm not sure how much deeper to go with the clue... Cuz again, I'm not sure what I'm looking for...

As for the Kaipper thing, it's true that it's hard to know if it was a time out, or done on purpose... Not that we have much more than that to go on so far... So I guess we'll see how things shake out between now and what time we have left...

Like some of you have said, I have no idea where to go with this cipher.

I tried to research the Fairchild Auditorium to see if maybe there's a detail in the place itself that could be the solution, but I'm not getting anywhere. I can't find any information about the theater (like, who is it named for?); all I could find is that it is currently undergoing construction and it's believed to be haunted.

I'm going to place a vote for someone who is more inactive/participating less for now. I have no feelings of "wolfiness" from anyone yet, and as was said earlier, Limerick's death doesn't point to anyone.

Edit to add: Voted for Lunasimba.

Though I hate to do this, I'm throwing out an SPV for now. I may change it later if I either solve the cipher, unlikely as that seems, or find someone who seems suspicious (even less likely).

Skinny, Limerick, Tuku and myself were all hanging around in chat waiting for the night round to end so we could start working on the cipher before going to bed. I believe that Limerick would have tried to get first post also had he not been eaten And yes, El-what's-his-name was with us chatting as well.

It seems to me that if someone has solved the cipher and solved the clue, that they have no reason to not share the answer they got since, unlike the seer, there is no guarantee that they will receive information the next round, and therefor are no threat to the wolves. This makes me think that one of three things is happening. 1) no one has successfully solved the cipher, 2) someone has solved the cipher but can't solve the clue, 3) someone has solved the cipher and the clue but maybe didn't realize that it would probably be best for them to share their new knowledge.

I guess I say that so that if it is case 3, whomever has the information should please share with the class! What do other people think about that situation? Do you all feel it would be safe?

In other news, I have no idea who I want to vote for yet. We've still got time, so I'm going to keep working at that puzzle and keep contemplating, but my head is full of sickness, so I'm not sure how clearly I am thinking today.

One last comment, Kaipper, I haven't updated my public profile in a while, but it should probably be added that in addition to being a math teacher, I also teach German.

Can wolves try to answer the cipher in order to keep us from getting it? Cuz if so, that's also a possibility (beat us to the clue so we can't have it)...

Are we all voting for different people? We've got 8 hours, but I'll be going out after work, so I won't be back on until tomorrow morning (unless I check back between now and 50 P.M., which is like 40 minutes)...

Since there's no current consensus, I'll go ahead and fair play it and vote for Innovative (since he voted for me

I'll check back before I leave work, and will change if ya'll have a direction to head in...

Ok, I've had a chance to make notes in my werewolf notebook now, and one of the things that jumped out to me was that 4wheels hasn't been active this round, and was barely active last round. She has only made 1 post between both rounds. As she is the least active, I'm going to throw a vote her direction for now because I'd rather keep around people who are active.

Faith, I think it is very possible that a spy got the cipher and was able to intercept the clue before one of us could get it. I guess that is scenario #4 in my breakdown. While I think it is great for people to post ideas about the cipher here because it gives us a chance to solve, it also gives the spies ideas and gives them more of a chance. I'm not sure how beneficial it is to post ideas out loud. That's why I've mostly been keeping mine to myself.

Actually, considering the large group of people that mocha and you mention were chatting just before the night ended, isn't that very possible? I'm not really sure how much it would help us either way, but that's a thing.

I suppose it -is- possible, but given the timing, I think it extremely unlikely. But it doesn't do anything for us either way, so I suppose it's a moot point.

Mocha, given the absolutely horrendous grammar, I'm pretty sure Innovative was joking. I know what you mean about the supposed name calling, but I'm sure he meant it in jest. Besides the wording, freaking out over a vote when you're not even close to being the majority is not only wolfish, but just plain ridiculous. I can't say as I know him well, but he doesn't seem the type to get so upset, even if he was in danger of being shot. Of course, I've been wrong before.

As for voting, 4wheels seems like as good a shot as any, since none of us have a clue yet as to who we -need- to shoot.

Ok...I hate to step in and be a mommy, but I want to make sure everyone is able to have fun. I do believe Innovative was just trying to make a joke, but that being said, everyone needs to consider how people will react to what you say. There are people behind our Braingle accounts and what may seem like a joke to you, may come off as offensive to someone else. It is really difficult to portray tone in a post. Please just consider others' feelings before you post things. I really don't want to start putting people in time-outs.
