Who Will Fall and Who Will Leaf: ROUND 2
Due to the confusion last round, I decided the best course of action would be to use GreenApples27's question:
Question: "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" is a philosophical riddle that questions observation and knowledge. Do you believe the unobserved world functions as the observed world does? What are you theories to this famous philosophical riddle?
Answer: It is possible that it make a sound no one knows for sure. I think it has a sound because laws still occur as they would if a person or creature was there. Maybe there's not sound because no one is there to interrupt it but there are waves. If I leave a football to roll down a hill and do not observe it rolling down will it be stuck in one place until I get back? No. Read about Double-slit experiment. 'Life goes on within you and without you'
RGW4 will be Humpty Dumpty for this round. Although GreenApples27 technically had the greatest number of posts, the rules stipulate that the position must change hands every round, and RGW4 was in second place. Please notify me if you believe this is incorrect and the discrepancy would actually result in a different Humpty Dumpty.
RGW4, please announce the player whom you would like to grant firing immunity in your first post. This player should then provide a psych question for the next round if he or she so desires (for the sake of premature discussion, you are welcome to PM me rather than post in the game).
RGW4 has chosen to grant voting immunity to LogicalRoger, who may not be fired this round (as an optional firing).
Caberet, I am deeply sorry that you are not enjoying this game, but having been in your shoes, I understand your decision. Thank you for giving it a chance though!
Rules from Previous Round, Restated:
There will be a "special role" called "Humpty Dumpty" (based upon the idea of "fall"). This role will be randomly assigned from amongst all 15 players (Boss and Rat included) the first round; each successive round, it will fall to the player with the most constructive, game-related posts.
Double posting will generally be penalized, with the exception of a Voting List post should you make one, and if nobody else has posted after three hours (only double post if your above post is reasonably lengthy or has already been edited for added content).
The role will change hands each round, and no person may hold the role more than twice per game. If needed, I will consider second, third, etc. runner-ups for the number of posts made.
Humpty Dumpty will be able to provide firing immunity to one player besides him or herself, effective that round (if the person is a mandatory firing, this power cannot help). No one person may receive immunity more than once per game, not even for non-consecutive rounds; if all remaining players have received protection in a previous round, this protect becomes void.
The person whom Humpty Dumpty protects is allowed to ask the Boss a psych question for the next round. If this person does NOT submit a question by the end of voting, I will ask a question instead.

Well, hello everyone!
I think we can possibly use "football" from the psyche answer to aid us. It could just be put in there, but of all the things the boss could've chosen that rolls, they choose a "football", which leads me to a male person. Sure, a female could say "ball", but the boss said "football".
Shadows is undoubtedly cleared, with three players stating a vote for her fired.
I will vote krishnan for the time being.

As I sit on the wall thinking of who to give the immunity too... I decided to give it to someone who did not vote for Shadows last round. I am not sure if the boss joined in on that vote, but I am sure the rat probably did. However, I am leaning towards the boss being a male also, mostly because we have a lot more males playing this game then females and a couple of our females have been cleared already. LogicalRoger - I give you the firing immunity - use it wisely.
As for a vote, I will vote for GreenApples for now

Well, for not giving our only clear the immunity this round, I am changing my vote to RGW4.
Sorry changhill - your safety vote isn't so safe anymore.
Sorry changhill - your safety vote isn't so safe anymore.
I am here but very sleepy. I will post my thoughts when I wake up.
Although it probably wasn't the safest bet for anyone else, it is the safest from my perspective, so I'm not down on the choice. I just urge Shadows to stay out of majorities (I'm sure she knows that already though). I'll try to use my immunity wisely by joining a majority, so let's try to clear someone else this round. For now I'll fish for Chang.
I wish I could have a jury for the question because I haven't got a clue what would be good to ask. I won't voice ideas because of the previous discussion that the boss could use our talks, but knowing me, it will likely be somewhat ... interesting. I'll try at least.
Speaking about questions, there's a debate topic on the whole "tree falls in a forest" thing on here, so I'll post the responses of those of us who posted in it:
GA -
Omaha -
LogicalRoger -
RGW -
Sounds like we all agree (pun not intended, but encouraged). Great.
Why didn't the Libertarian cross the road?

When a tree falls, it makes a sound NO MATTER IF ANYONE IS THERE OR NOT. =]
Omaha -
The vibrations make a sound, the animals can hear it.
LogicalRoger -
Shawneeo described the "dilemma" well. It does make a sound. Also, did I post in this topic before? A long time ago? Around the time I started? Deja vu.
RGW -
No Snowy... this is an age old question. The fact remains, it makes a sound but no one hears it

Did anybody see that video of the HUGE cactus falling down? I think they were just lucky to be there, though I think it would still make a sound even if they weren't. I've always thought that this was a stupid question, no offense to anyone, but only because it seems obvious to me.
I'm going to safety for Omaha until someone wants to start a majority or something.

Funny, I have been paying attention to the game, I actually have 3 people cleared (myself not included - though I know better).. but I will not state their names in case the boss wasn't pay attention.
In any case, it's never good for two people to vote for each other - makes it too easy for the boss to fire both, if possible, and no one is cleared. I am switching my vote to EMB92.

I keep coming back to the Boss answer from the last round:
In going through user pages and wikis, if I eliminate those who do not really "fit" this answer, it only leaves those who live in the US. I don't think other countries share the fall celebrations which are held in some of the US states. Also, the rolling in leaves sounds like something done in the midwest or New England states. Turkeys make me think of Thanksgiving and pumpkins work for both Halloween and Thanksgiving.
This round's Boss answer is from "The Second Coming" by William Butler Yeats so our Boss seems to enjoy reading Literature. Also, as krishnan pointed out last round, the Boss answer was also quotes from other authors. To me, I think our Boss is trying to use quotes in order to disguise their own writing style knowing that some of us could recognize them if they were to use their own words to answer the questions.
I'm just not sure where to place my vote based on what I've read so far. I'll be back later to see if anyone has any thoughts about someone here who would fit the bill for the Literature lover as well as living in an area that does experience all of the above.
SMILE and people will wonder what you are up to!
Leaves change color, there are carnivals and harvests and celebrations before everything freezes and we get cold unbearable winters. You work hard in fall but it's worth it in the end. Turkeys, pumpkins, and rolling in leaves. Need I say more?

Although the boss probably slipped up a few times and gave away some information about where he/she lives, we can't be certain "pumpkins" and "turkey" aren't plants to try and make us go with an American. Notice how the boss never seems to say that they have pumpkins and turkeys, similar to what GA pointed out about the boss possibly not working because of the shift in POV.
I'm a little suspicious of GA and RGW, RGW for not choosing "the safe bet" and GA for accusing RGW mostly on that basis, but with little interest on the subject before. Sorry RGW, but I think I might want to vote for you and start a majority, since we need to start one anyways and it would clear you if you're an employee.
If anyone has any better suspicions or wants to form a majority, please say so. It's been half the round and we don't have too much talk.
Edit: Changing my vote to RGW for now. I will change it again if another majority is formed.

Like I said before... no problem having a vote on me - I know I am safe from firing if the majority is on me (my personal immunity - as we both tried to discuss and provide details to last round).
The safe place to put the immunity might have been on Shadows from everyone elses ideas, but I treat her now as cleared. And for the record, as stated before, regardless of whom they are, we have more than 1 cleared player based on their time off line during the waiting periods... and I always figure these players have to do exactly as GA stated... stay out of a majority vote. Too often they do not, because they think they need to look active and follow others, but unless they absolutely believe the boss has been located, they are better off laying off majority votes. Eventually, it will backfire against the boss beings he can only fire those in the majority vote and if too many people are cleared from being the boss... it becomes easy to say who the boss is.
However, I can not prove to you or anyone who does not know me, that I am not the boss, so I will not try to convince you otherwise, I don't mind being cleared this round, as you have stated. Edit - I think Froggy's one comment also jumps out at me... someone who likes Literature. The last book I read has to be some ten years ago... just a little point on this issue.
I DO live in southern California... our temps today were around 95... the coolest they have been in a week. I have never seen snow on the ground around my home (lived in this area for 53 years) - and I have been known to wear a T-shirt when the temps get to 30 degrees... (warm blooded). You can put this in a future bank on me - beings I have also been known not to lie as a player who is not the boss!

LR, I'm suspicious for suspecting RGW4 for the reason you suspect him? Fascinating.
I did suspect him last round if you read back, but I only voted Shadows to aid majority.
So no, LR, I did not vote him with no other basis. I found the boss to be an older male (and by "older" I mean older than 30) yesterday, hence why I first suspecting talanpoe and RGW4.
So yes, my vote remains on RGW4. RGW4, if you ever become a lemming I suggest you out the cleared players, otherwise keep them to yourself and that way the boss is less in the know, unless of course you are the boss.

Yeah, I did notice that might have sounded a bit hypocritical, but there is a slight difference, at least in my opinion. I'm suspicious of him not only because of his choice, employees can make odd choices as well, but because of the way he seemed to be against the idea at first and then tried to clarify later. And as I said before, you didn't seem an extreme supporter of Shadows getting the immunity, so I didn't really see why you would cast a vote based on this. It looked more as though you wanted to vote for RGW and tied a reason to it as an afterthought. I read your vote as having little other basis, I guess I was wrong to think that.So yes, my vote remains on RGW4. RGW4, if you ever become a lemming I suggest you out the cleared players
Or even outing a cleared player if that player is about to be a lemming. We don't know if the boss doesn't know them, and it wouldn't be helpful to have the boss either purposefully or accidentally fire cleared players. I think I know one of them too, but will try to keep it secret until I deem it necessary to reveal. Unless I'm wrong; in that case never mind.
Why didn't the Libertarian cross the road?
I don't really think RGW is boss, but I am willing to join a majority on him, I guess. I also think Shadows should stay clear of a majority, unless she really thinks RGW is the boss. I will vote in the morning when I can think more clearly.
EDIT: LogicalRoger, no pressure, but think of a good psych question!

It's late and I'm tired. I'm going to go ahead and post a vote for LR for now. I'm going to be tied up all day tomorrow and I want to get a vote in so that I am not a mandatory fire.
I will try to check back in and see what else has been posted. The only reason that I am not joining the majority vote on Randy is because I also live in CA and know what our winters are like. I just don't think he is our Boss, but I could be wrong.
Nite all.

Froggy... LR has immunity (although I am sure voting for him does not violate the rule per sey...as it is the boss who can not fire him???)

Froggy, for the record, I also live in CA, (southern CA as well) have immunity for the round, and am currently not in a majority and thus not currently likely to be cleared. If you could change your vote, preferably to someone we can clear, that would be better strategy.
Edit: I guess that would unlikely though. We shouldn't need every vote to clear RGW anyways.

RGW4, there's nothing rattish about that. I have suspected and voted in the same way. Even if I was rat, who was I protecting? I've had the most experience out of anyone in braingle (I'm pretty sure) in the role of rat, having been rat 9 times, and even if I was rat this game, I wouldn't make myself obvious.
Anyway, it's past midnight here so I'm going off to sleep! Night, night!

I read through again too, and I'll change my vote. Majorities are fun. The only thing I celebrate in Fall seems to be birthdays, lol. Today would have been my great-grandma's 100th, so we're celebrating that. In 2 days it's my aunt's birthday, and in another 2 days it's my sister's birthday.
(I can't type for some reason. If there are any mistakes, blame it on the fact that I got up at 6 this morning. )

Oops! I completely forgot that LR had immunity this round.
Since it appears that we have more than enough votes to form a large majority on Randy, I'm going to vote for krishnan. I'm just still not convinced that Randy is our Boss, although he has fooled me several times in other games!
If you truly feel another vote is needed for Randy's majority, I'll try to check back later and possibly join the majority.
SMILE and people will wonder what you are up to!

I've played plenty of WTB games, but I'm still no good at knowing what amount of votes is enough to clear a person. It has to be a clear majority though, not just a majority (ugh, I forgot the technical term for that, but oh well). According to RGW's voting list above, we have six votes against another possible six, so we need more to clear him, though I can't tell you the exact number.
Why didn't the Libertarian cross the road?
Why didn't the Libertarian cross the road?
I'm thinking now that froggygg is the rat and RGW4 is the boss. Froggy seems really really reluctant to join the majority.
It doesn't sound like that to me. She's obviously trying to stay out of the majority. She even suggested one other person joins the majority - a rat wouldn't do that. So I think froggygg is being cautious as she doesn't see RGW4 as boss, and she doesn't want to be fired early in the game, am I right froggygg?

The round is over in about 7 hours. Unfortunately, I don't think Cab will vote, as she hinted to before. Hopefully Shadows will come on or has voted already, because with her Cab and JLP, we'll have three mandatories!
Yeah, my only immunity in the game will likely be wasted.

You are allowed to be immune twice, just not consecutively, I think.
The rules in the first post of this round say that you can only be immune once per game. There is an exception when everyone has been immune, however. I'm not sure what Demo means by "become void" though. Does that mean there is no immunity that round or that the restrictions don't apply?

If I understand the rules...
We have 12 players left. I think it is safe to say the rat is still with us... so only 10 votes count. Clearly I have a majority vote with 6, but it is one vote shy of being rat proof. Like with last round when the votes were on Shadows... I sort of doubt the rat would vote for the boss this early in the game... but the good news is that the boss will have to fire from those who voted for me (the LEMMINGS), which will clear me at the expense of a couple players.
However, as it was pointed out... the boss may only have the three undisclosed voters to fire as mandatories... setting us up for another round like this one.

Well, I'm disappointed mainly in Shadows for being clear, and a likely mandatory.
Oh well, this is how the game goes sometimes.

Yes GA, you are correct that I'm trying to stay in the game and not be fired. I'm always eaten in TWG but I try to avoid the firing line in the Boss games. If my vote were positively needed, I would have voted for Randy. However, I just don't think he is the Boss. And no, I'm not the Rat.
I also hope Shadows makes it in time to vote so she isn't a mandatory fire.

Ok, I am just confirming my vote for RGW. Even though I don't think he is the boss, I will stick with the vote. I just hope I am not a lemming, given there may be three mandatories. It would be great if Shadows did vote for someone since Shadows is the only clear person.
I fish voted for froggy yesterday, but I didn't have time to post. Also, we recently got a faster high-speed Internet (there are, like, five speeds which are considered "high" ), so my dad has been watching stupid movies all day today. And then I needed to print something for school, but the printer wasn't working, so he spent two hours uninstalling and reinstalling the printer. Oh well. At least I made it in time to state my vote.
There's a typo in the psych answer; the Boss typed "not" instead of "no". I doubt that's intentional. I think the use of the word "football" is, though. Because the round kind of football definitely rolls better than the Stewie Griffin kind of football, maybe the Boss is trying to appear non-American.

I thought exactly the same that a soccer ball rolls much better down a hill than a rugby ball/Stewie type. I checked all the players and there was a possibility that PsychoMickey could have been the boss except he got fired. I have also been looking at profiles to see if anyone had an interest in English football/soccer. I haven't found anything yet but I'm still looking.
It appears that I was wrong with thinking Randy was the Boss. Obviously we have a clever one because the memos & answers did sound like him.

Unfortunately, I don't think there was enough votes to clear RGW. We had five votes out of seven, and that's supposing that all those in the majority were employees only. That's not enough to fire the boss, so we can't rule RGW out so soon.

Logi Rogi, you can't count. Or you were just tired. 6 people voted for RGW4, not 5....Though I might be insane and not be following your reasoning.
Technically, I may not be cleared. Six would be enough to fire the boss, if none of them were from the rat, however, if one is the rat, than there is only 5 of 10 votes on the person. However, let's not be too hasty about saying I am not cleared - though I doubt I will be... becaues of the firings that will take place. Sadly, it looks like there are two mandatories.

It seems I can't count. Not to mention that I forgot to consider all the possibilities. If RGW was boss, we would have six votes against five (enough to fire the boss) or, if the rat was in our majority, five against five (not enough to fire the boss). If both the boss and rat stayed out of the majority then obviously RGW couldn't be the boss. So unless I'm missing something, again, it's a 50/50 chance of RGW being cleared and while it's best not to mark him off as cleared so soon, he is right in saying that there would be no current reason to be overly suspicious of him.
Edit: Because I can't seem to add everyone up. It'd be much easier if boss/rat weren't counted in the total.
There would be six to four, if boss/rat were both out of the majority; five to five if each took their place in a different group.

I much preferred the thunder storms and rain. Only down side is walking in them. And of course, it always happens when I haven't brought my umbrella.

It is sort of strange that one week ago we had record heat temps here in So Calif; and today it was 45 degrees cooler than it was then. I still love it though... don't have to shovel any snow, such as I once did at my uncle's house in Iowa.

I love walking in rain without an umbrella. It's been raining here too. Oh, and boss.......HURRY UP!!!

I find shovelling snow very emotionally satisfying. The same goes for raking leaves. You know what I hate? People who use leaf blowers on the tiny patch of grass in front of their house. I love going outside and raking my yard (which is a fair bit bigger than your average suburban yard) and basking in the warm sunshine and feeling the cool breeze and appreciating the peace and quiet, occasionally interrupted by honking geese, and feeling like time stopped in its tracks... and then some jerk comes along with his darned leaf blower and destroys everything.
And I can't even hear the geese anymore.

Wow, this is *really* pushing it, demo! Where are ya?!
Wow, it was abandoned. And LR was boss. Isn't this like the second time you've been boss and it's been abandoned, LR?
Well that was a disappointing end!

Very, considering 4demo has been online and could have started the next round.

Well, game abandoned! Too bad, I guess.
AGHHHHHHHHHH. I'm really so sorry, everyone; I've never done this before. (Don't worry, I hate myself too.)
I did log on after the memo had been submitted, but it was only for a few minutes and I didn't have time to figure out who the new Humpty Dumpty would have been and to provide an opening post, so I assumed I would have time to log on again in time. How very wrong that proved to be.
In summary/reiteration, I'm very sorry, I know this wasn't the most fun game, and feel free to hate me.

Erm, maybe a while back. My memory's not that great though. Oh well.Yeah, I'd join another game, but please, Demo, try to make it at a time when you're not horrendously busy so that we all don't go tumbling down due to accidental inconveniences. And don't feel so bad. I would have been fired soon enough anyways. I did send the memo in somewhat late, just to try and keep with the timings and do something out of my character. I apologise if my tactics played any role in abandonment of the game. I could've sworn that you still had about seven hours left. What happened there?
Second time in the row I was boss, did I do a good job? I swear, the only "trick" I have as boss is to behave almost exactly as I would as an employee. I probably would have gotten everyone else cleared and thus the natural conclusion ...
Note: I love Autumn! It's my favourite season of the year because of the overall atmosphere, the adjustment in the weather from terribly sunny to slightly less terribly sunny, and as I've somewhat noted in the memo, the carnivals, harvest festivals, and events. I am ever so giddy waiting for Halloween. Anyways, I thought this could be easily known and thus get my goose cooked. Luckily not. While I do live in sunny CA, I would prefer to have an Autumn.
I wasn't going to fire anyone this round, just so that RGW couldn't be cleared. Two mandies already. Speaking of which, Talanpoe was listed as a Mandie in Round 1. I must thank RGW for letting me ask myself a question. It isn't often I get to do that without the funny looks. Since it wasn't posted here, I'll try and write that below. (I apologise if I butcher 4demo's reworded intro, all I can recall are the puns):
Sometimes we hear a song and "fall" in love with it so that we "leaf" with a sense that it reflects a part of our very personality. Please list the genres of music that you like and explain in what ways they reflect your personality or not and whether you personally believe that something as slight as a musical preference could reflect a person's personality.
'Music [myoo-zik]–noun any sweet, pleasing, or harmonious sounds or sound' Soft wind, wind-chimes, waves. As for genre - pop. I'm not blond or peppy but it makes me smile after a long day. It fits me when I'm happy. Does it reflect people? Not really. There are only a few types of music and many people. Do the math.
It is a bit different, but quite similar. Oh well. Best luck next time. I've given it a decent rating because there was effort and mistakes happen.

Hey 4Demo... hope your tests went well... things happen.
It is sort of funny... just after I selected Logical as the Humpty Dumpty I almost jumped back on and changed it because I had this feeling that I was giving the boss the free round! Really... but I saw that he had signed on and one other player and decided someone would cry fowl! But from that point on, I was really looking at what you said and to try and ease my decision. I can't say you ever really alerted me after that, but I also had not cleared you in my mind.
Sorry you did not get to continue with your boss position... maybe down the road! And yeah, I truly figured that the boss was not going to fire anyone and keep me as the person with the majority vote... I would have done the same thing (provided I was not the boss).
And thanks Froggy for believing in me as NOT the boss. I got caught once with a seasonal question, I doubt that would ever happen again.

Good game anyway. I gave it the same rating I gave to every game I've played in. Hope your exams were fine.
