Okay, sounds like the boss likes hockey, which might or might not point to a Canadian? But I don't know... Glad the round has started. That memo sounded a bit...threatening, didn't it?
Edit: The boss seems to insinuate he/she is not a "teenage girl in today's society," but it might just be a trick. Safety vote for ppjones for now.

I understand the bit about the boss saying that he/she is glad that he/she is not a teenage girl in todays society, but is it not a rule that the boss cannot lie in the memo? Like I stated before, I am new to all of this, so I am probably wrong! I am starting to think that the boss is definately an adult. The hockey bit, I am not sure about yet.
How many accounts do you have on Braingle?
How many accounts do you have on Braingle?
The rules say that you can lie in the memo, but not it the psyche question. I have actually won a game before because I lied in the memo.
As much as I love the effort in the memo.. I really don't appreciate the Canadian pointing >_> Although we're not the only Hockey players, our national sport is actually lacrosse (never woulda guessed, would you?). In my Canadian defense, I actually don't like hockey. It's too cold to watch, eh? Sure my family and I have a favourite team (Ottawa Senators ftw!) but.. really.. it's just family team pride. I don't ever watch them play. haha.
I'm a bit confused because breaking it down the person sounds like they dislike teenagers in today's society, and are implying they aren't one. (reverse psychology?) They then go on to talk about entrepreneurship (I didn't have to google what that meant ) as if they do have their own business.
There's one thing I've noticed O.O Each round the memo is pointing to a few different countries!
Round one: America (favorite)
Round two: Canada (Hockey) NZ and Australia (Maths)
Note: Bold were the people in the list who came back online in time to post the memo. If we were waiting on the boss, it's probably one of them. If we're waiting on mod then it's anyone with the stuff beside their name)
bradon182001 (adult, "can tolerate hockey")
cccgirl (girl)
Gizzer (Canadian)
GreenApples27 (NZ, teenager)
JamFish (Canadian, teenager)
Jayo (Sports, adult)
kitty-cat (teenage girl)
ppjones (sports, job with finance a.k.a numbers, adult)
PYTHON (male)
RGW4 (self-employed/entrepreneur? adult)
jpost (adult male)
Elios (American, adult female)
Rhythmic (clear)
reggie57 (Clear)
Also, we had 9 votes (minus boss or rat potentially) on Rhythmic.. why didn't the boss fire anyone else?
Also I am voting for RGW4 since he is an entrepreneur and American.
Votes this round:
PYTHON : GreenApples27

RGW4 : bradon182001

Interesting memo and Psych Question response, but more interesting is the fact that talanpoe was fired. doesn't that kinda clear me, since he stated a vote for me (and unless he actually failed to lock in his vote which is highly unlikely) and as I understand it if you vote for the boss you can't be fired?
I did state in my wiki that I can "tolerate" hockey, mainly as a comparison to football, which I hate. Hockey I can take or leave, and I really have no knowledge about the helmets they wear, but if magnetic hockey helmets can save thousands from head injuries it probably will make a lot of money for the creator, so I wish I had thought of it first.
Anyhow, for now I'll continue with a safety vote for Gizzer, but most like will change depending on majority that forms.
Edit: vote locked in

In the answer to the psych question, the boss could be using a play on words, which is ok, the boss just can not lie.
The boss stated "Or rather.. that's what I would say if I was a teenage girl in today's stupid society." The boss never said he/she was or ever has been a female... just that this is what the boss would have said if the boss WAS a teenage girl.
And I think the use of maths was just to stir things up a bit beings it was brought up last round. However, the boss did say they were an entrepreneur, so that must be true, as it is in the answer to the question, even if it was not a direct response to the question, it was in their answer and not in their memo before the question. However, it doesn't mean they only work for themselves, they could sell tupperware or such and still work for someone else... so take this info with a little grain of salt.
I suspect talanpoe forgot to lock in his vote and he was a mandatory, hence, Bobbi you are not cleared. The boss probably was hoping that with the confusion of how the votes went for Rhythmic last round that maybe another vote would go towards him. I hope no one was fooled by that, unless several players did not state the true person they voted for, he pretty much is cleared. Besides that, there was one other majority of two votes that would have become lemmings before the single vote on bradon.
I'm still trying to figure how you have jpost and elios cleared Jamfish, they were both on yesterday. If it was from time stamp of play, I respectfully request you keep that info to yourself, as I believe in this case you are in error. Though it is something you can use to help you narrow down the boss, it actually can become anti-productive. Players start to NOT sign on to be cleared... and frankly, you never know, the boss could have waited until the game just finished the round and then immediately signed on, sent the memo and signed off until the next day after the next round starts to look inactive. The mod has 24 hours to approve what the boss sent, so both jpost and elios are viable candidates to being the boss.
I will lock in my vote for Bobbi right now... she is too anxious to be cleared! Edit: Locked and saved!

@Bradon, I don't think it clears you since the boss hinted that it was a mandatory fire, or mod fire. As for the hockey helmets.. not sure how them being magnetic helps people.. :?
@RGW4, I noticed that too which is why I'm not really focused on gender or age tooo much right now. The only thing I find that hints an age seems to be the entrepreneur stuff.
I thought that bit was just staying in character.. not sure. That's why I pointed out that you are working for yourself. If it's true you'd be the most logical vote.. if it's just in character then idk?
Oops, didn't think of that I'll take them back off. Reggie is definitely cleared for time stamp though.. it was 7 days.. it would be stupid to not include that.
Lookey here, I've got a window sheet!

Jamfish... no doubt about it for me, I am self employed and an entrepreneur. It says so on my intro page. I am an electrical contractor.
I am also not the boss or the rat, says so when I sign onto this game... but you can't see that. I don't care if you want to vote for me and even get a majority on me - but I hope you understand that I will not join that vote, I try not to be a lemmin early in the game.
I also know of a couple other players in this game that are entrepreneurs, but I will not vote for them just because of that fact... but I do admit, it is a solid fact. Were you ever a newspaper delivery person for a smaller town for the local throw away paper? I suspect those positions are long gone with the economy. I used to deliver 150 papers a week to a designated delivery region. At the end of the month, I would go door to door and collect for the paper. It was not mandatory. When I started the route, I had 35-40 customers who paid me every month and appreciated the paper... when I stopped doing it about 2 years later, I had 85-90 who would pay me every month. I delivered it to everyone's doorstep every week, and I went to everyone's house every month with a smile on my face and no pressure, acknowledging that they did not have to pay if they did not want to. I was an entrepreneur even then... oh wait, I was 12-14 at the time. I got a bit of every collection I made, as well as a set fee for delivering the paper. Those extra people who paid sure helped my piggy bank. Sort of throws a little wrench in your fire to say that being an entrepreneur means you are old, doesn't it? Ever sell Lemonade on the corner?

Hmm, I never considered that either. I guess I was an entrepreneur myself. I delivered papers. but after that I set up my own local dog walking business five dollars an hour. I only ended up getting on regular customer
I don't know about any other entrepreneurs in this game but we should form some sort of majority soon so that when people are on, if they're only on for a short period in the round, they can join. Plus there's no point in wasting a round.
I'm up for a majority on anyone because we don't have many leads but I'd prefer RGW4 since not only does it make sense to me, you're extremely good at noticing things and rather intelligent when it comes to the game. You'd be a good person to have clear who we can trust.

Never been anywhere close to an entrepreneur. I don't think I've made any money, except from my allowance. I should probably get started soon, I'm 13...
Just as a side note, if anyone really wanted to, you could probably post a screenshot of your non-boss/rat voting page. But that would kind of ruin the fun of the game, wouldn't it?

I'm back.
I was surprised to see talanpoe alone on the firing list. The most likely explanation would be that his vote did not save. (It happens, even to the best of us!)
For talanpoe (as an employee) to have been fired otherwise would involve him either changing his vote without saying so (which is not like him) or Rhythmic being the Boss, PLUS a few people not actually voting for Rhythmic when they said they did, PLUS either reggie or RGW not voting for kitty.
It's also possible that talanpoe is the Rat, and some of the switched votes weren't actually changed, such that Rhythmic didn't get enough votes to be fired, but enough to put the Rat on the firing list. The Boss may be hoping to cast doubt on the clearing of Rhythmic by firing only one person.
I will continue to vote for jpost. His style of play matches the playful answers and the firing of only a single player at a time.
Edit: Vote confirmed

Eh, that sounds complicated but I'd rather just consider Rhythmic cleared. We need to form some form of majority and since I haven't played with jpost often I don't know his style but Gizzer seems to.
Voting for jpost

I can't even be bothered reading the memo and psyche answer, that's not even a psyche question jubu...
Anyway, this boss seems very strange not to have fired anyone else. Even if the rat voted for Rhythmic, Rhythmic was still cleared by majority vote. So we have two clears now, Rhythmic and reggie57. These two should stay out of majorities at least for one or two rounds!
People don't even wear helmets in hockey... only in ice hockey.
I'm going for cccgirl right now, because I'm pretty sure she's into sports? And American.

Also...
I think that the Psych answer was given in character, as personal information was not requested. If that's so, the entrepreneur and hockey clues may be red herrings.
I had not heard the "because fish have no bones" line before, so I googled it, and found
this, which if not helpful, is at least amusing.
I also searched for magnetic hockey helmets, and found this. Cedar Ridge Research LLC is in New Hope, Alabama.

ahaha, that link is hilarious!!! As for the other link, is there anyone from Alabama here?
... looking..
not that I can tell.. no clue where Alabama is though XD States maybe? Geography isn't my best subject That may be possible, I thought the entrepreneur bit was in character but I never considered the whole thing. That may explain the quotes in the answer.

GA: I'm with you. I can't make heads or tails of that memo or psyche answer. All it does (besides give me a headache) is give me clues to who it doesn't sound like: Bobbi, you, Kitty Cat, RGW, or Elios. And Rhythmic and Reggie are cleared.
To Gizzer's comment, from what I've seen, the boss' style could point to JPost. So casting my vote in that direction and hoping for the best.
EDIT: Not to be Debby Downer or anything, but those who've played WTB with me in the past may remember me mentioning that I don't have a "dad" as I didn't grow up with my father in my life. So that part definitely wouldn't apply to me (though honestly I'd never heard of magnetic hockey helmets either before this).

Anyone who knows me would know I recently moved out to live on my own. No parents. But considering that part was in quotes, I think the boss may have just been imitating your typical teenager and their typical hatred for their parents. Not sure though.
Also, we have three votes for jpost, maybe we can get a majority on him?

Well, since I know I am not the boss, there is no need to vote for myself. Not sure how to figure out who the boss is (my one failing in regards this game, not knowing the psychology or strategy behind it), so I will randomly select GreenApples.
I will admit the one time I was a boss on this game I was firing one person at a time. I thought it would keep the game going better. They got me in the third round. If I can survive the third round, it is fairly certain I am not the boss.
God began calling the light Day, but the darkness he called Night.

I'll change to jpost to help out the majority!
Trust me, jpost, I am definitely not the boss considering maths is my least favourite subject!

Alabama is in the southeast region of the US... It's basically over the state of Florida (which I am sure you have heard of due to all the hurricane watches)... and about 2 states to the east of Texas. They had the best darn fried catfish in the US, IMHO. I live in California, only had one chance to stay there for a week back in 85' and really enjoyed their catfish restrauants. Some things you can remember for ever. Is it still as good? No idea!
I also remember that when I was there (for a week long business training session), I had to drive to the next county to buy some beer, because where the school was, it was a dry county. I had thought those days were long over - did I learn a lesson. oh yes, those were the days.

As embarrassing as this may be, I slept through my geography class (still passed mind you) So I honestly didn't know where Alabama was. I thought it was in the States but I wouldn't have bet my life on it Thanks for the description though I do know where Florida is (woot metrocon) so that helped me XD
@Rhythmic, reading the "trust me.." alone as you quoted it.. well I read it in golumn's (smeagel?) voice O.o lolol. Ya I tend to be paranoid and over-analyze EVERYTHING.
We only have 5 votes on jpost right now, not a majority, so depending on how things go and who joins we may need you to join Rhythmic, but for self-preservation let's hope you don't have to.

@Rhythmic, reading the "trust me.." alone as you quoted it.. well I read it in golumn's (smeagel?) voice O.o lolol. Ya I tend to be paranoid and over-analyze EVERYTHING.

Hmm.
I was scrolling through the posts, thinking about the Alabama reference, and I saw that cccgirl had used the abbreviation GA to refer to greenapples. Then I remembered GA could also be an abbreviation for Georgia, a state that's, if it's not touching Alabama, is very close to it. A stretch? Definitely. Useful? Maybe.
But like I said, it's a stretch. Just trying to get the most out of what the boss tells us.

I agree that the Psych answer sounds like the Boss is still in character. Since s/he didn't lie about the answer, it's technically legal, no? We do have a rather creative 'n wacky Boss!
I will go along with the majority again and vote for jpost.

6 votes for jpost. Who did the math for the needed vote counts last round? RGW4? Anyway you could do it again for this round? Not really sure how many more we need.
@Kitty-cat, it's unlikely but we may want to keep it in mind. He's also from NZ and a teen.
@Elios, I think "creative 'n wacky" is an understatement more like "creative 'n insane". Then again, insane isn't a bad thing (not trying to make the boss upset most of my friends are insane, it's a good thing )

8/14, minus rat, since jpost didn't vote for self, =7/12, as only 12 can vote, so it's the majority. Should be clear, but there's always a chance that something strange happened and he's not.

Looks like we'll lose reggie though. She's been off-line for 3 days and can't have voted.
Darn it just noticed that too.. at least we still have two clears, that's some progress.

of course, now when it turns out that GreenApples is not the boss, then I am fired, so clearing me will be for naught.
I have to chuckle at all of your geography knowledge of Alabama, since I live in the panhandle of Florida, about thirty minutes from the AL border. Somebody mentioned the catfish restaurants there. Of course, they are still good. These days it was easier to fry the fish since now they came with their own oil. (this is a joke only a local can pull off after the Deepwater Horizon incident) For the outsiders, that is really a joke, the Gulf Coast waters have been cleared by certain government agencies who should know (better).

Why would you be fired if GA isn't the boss? am I missing something here? Hehehe... geography doesn't agree with me.

You know what's weird about the South? People think of places like Alabama, Georgia and Texas (where I live) as having a southern accent, but Florida, the 2nd most southern state (after Hawai'i), people don't. At least, I don't. The stereotype for Florida, as every state kinda has a stereotype, is the beach, with palm trees, and luxury resorts. Texas's is cowboy hats and stuff like that.
This has absolutely nothing to do with Who's the Boss, but it's interesting anyway.

Lol, we're waiting for the boss/mod anyway so interesting is good I'm reaaaally bored. That's actually completely true for me O.o I wonder why.

Actually, I take issue with the catfish comment. I'm originally from Louisiana - everyone knows we have the best doggone catfish, and shrimp, and gumbo, and crab, and of course crawfish....
jpost, what is your post about me concerning?
Lol.. the only thing we have up here is snow cones and maple syrup.
@GA something along the lines of that he's gonna be a mandatory and that you're clear?

I just know that what I ate that week, I still remember to this day as being great and I hope someday to go back there (and now it looks like to Louisiana) and to enjoy it again.
I can state that your interstate roads on highway 10 going towards Florida are probably the worst roads I ever drove on (this was in 98' or so).

Darn. I was hoping the next round would have started.
Maybe soon.

Whoever the Boss is, I would really like it if you started the next round soon. I'm really bored right now.
Based on the clock being below 24 hours again, we know that the Boss submitted the memo, and we are just waiting for jubu to accept it.
It does detract somewhat from the game when so much time elapses between rounds. Ironically, I was busy while the discussion was active, but today, when I'm not working, all I can do is wait to see if I'll be fired or not.

Wow.. I was gone for Run For The Cure all day today helping sign up runners and get race kits out there.. I was afraid I would have missed a huge chunk of the round. Turns out not.. which sucks.. because I'm bored.
