Welcome to Round 1!
Frightening Fall Fatalities. . . . .
The Country was recovering from a hot, dry Summer, and looking forward to the rewards of Fall. Yes, Fall was here, bringing cooler days, chilly nights and the turning of leaves to the beautiful shades of red, orange, yellow and brown. You could smell Fall in the air, and it was delightful. Little did anyone know that there was a crazed maniac on the run . . . killing as they roam the country. . . . . who will be their next victim?

Well, it took me a bit to find the 0 and 1 ^^ up there to re-read the game description. I've not played one of these for a while, and only five or six in all. Snowy, you mentioned "detectives" and "murderer" in your game intro. I suppose we're all detectives? And, obviously, the murderer is the boss. You (as psych) just present the topic (here "sports") and the boss/murderer must comment on it? So we get two things said by the boss each round? Just tryin' to get up to speed. I suppose I'll pick someone after I post this to vote for, in case I don't come back before tomorrow, but I don't recall everyone who's playing yet.
Oh yeah, I seem to recall something from past games about posting being required each round. Is that the case? Does not posting in a round make someone susceptible to bein' murdered? Thanks.

The boss is answering the Prompt that I give them . . . and also, they are writing a Memo to the Detectives. . . . They have to answer honestly for the prompt, but do not have to be honest with what they say in the Memo. Everyone, keep that in mind!
You do not have to post each round, but others may get annoyed with you or they may feel it's making you look suspicious. On the other hand, You DO HAVE TO VOTE each round, otherwise, you will be placed on the mandatory firing list. No way out of that one. If you do not vote, the game fires you.
Hope this helps anyone that may have had these questions.

Yay, game has started and the boss is active.
For now I'll put in a safety vote for Elios, and unlike Rhythmic, I don't like being in a majority for the first couple of rounds. At least until I get a handle on the players and can match the answers to a particular player.

I dunno.... This is a pretty durn good bunch o' people. You really think enough of them will be Mandies to cover the Lemmings? 
Also Jake's adamant volunteering in and of itself is enough to clear him for me (right now, anyway). OR, as I learned last game with Rhy, he could be the Rat. I'm not saying I won't join a majority, but maybe let's find someone more fitting as Boss to clear...?
I put a random safety on Roman for now. I'm going to go familiarize myself with the other players' Wikis, mostly to see who does & does not mention sports.

But it could also be someone else that just likes watching it tv.
I agree with having a majority the first Round but it kinda seems like jake is little bit to eager to everyone vote for him and agree that he could be the rat. I think clearing someone else would be better.

I am not the rat.
Here is why I want to be cleared
I always have my words used against me in the last round to get a majority on me instead of the boss
I want to make sure I am clear of being the boss so i can play without restraint later.
Also I noticed something. 3 weeks in the memo? Who ever recently joined should be less likely to be the boss I think.
I think the boss could be male and is one of the first to join this game. Maybe. Mon entirely sure.
Also I have not yet voted but out of the 5 listed in the post above me I agree one of them is the boss.

I'm here. I'll vote JakeTAD because I agree with him that he often seems wolfish (in WWG of course, as I've never played WTB with him before) later in the game. Getting him cleared would be best. I won't be on for about another 8 hours, most likely, as I have to teach martial arts tonight. I might be able to get on for a few minutes between 6 and 7 though.

All that clearing jake this round would do is clear him as the boss but many of us have stated that we think he could be the rat so in the end his words could still be used against him.
With the WWG that is how it is for me too but that doesn't mean anything in WTB games.

Anyone can be the rat and also I would divide things to make sure no one was cleared not even myself and the purposely have myself suspect in later rounds so that you waste another round. So right now I wouldn't be a good rat. Also there is a chance that i would be fired. Read the rules. So it is unlikely I am the rat.
We have a few options this round
1 Don't clear anyone.
2 Clear me
3 Clear someone on the list
Now I am going to strike option 1 as insane.
Option 2 is only there because I get frustrated later in the game and the boss and rat take advantage. So clearing me of being the boss will save us a round later
Option 3 Clear one of the 5. I actually like this option the most but I don't think we will get it to work round 1 because the rat might fool someof the people and split the votes clearing no one but if we can agree on clearing an active on the list who won't be a mandi I am all over that.

I personally don't like being a lemming in the first round, and I see it as: Whoever the boss fires, if we know who that person voted for, they are clear
I haven't played that many games in particular, but that's how I se it.

Spud hasn't been on in 13 days. He's the only definite inactive. Talanpoe and kajish haven't been on in two days, so there still may be enough mandatories to cover the lemmings.

I don't usually make it late enough into the game to have the same issue you have, Jake, but I've seen it happen where one person just seemed so suspicious they garnered most of the attention throughout the game. A valid point about clearing you early on.
Well, I'll be a true Lemming and just do whatever everyone else decides.  So, Jake or HABS?

The boss can lie in the memo... so the only truth in the memo is that this game has taken about 3 weeks to get enough players to start - doesn't mean the person who is the boss has been sitting around those 3 weeks as a player in waiting. It could be one of the last few players who joined who is the boss.
Just like Bobbi, I don't like to be a lemming in the first couple rounds.
I don't see Jake as the boss, but keep in mind if we do have enough inactives to allow the boss to only fire them, Jake wouldn't be cleared anyway without having 50+1% of the votes... which for first round would be 10 with only 18 votes counting... so 11 votes to be rat proof.
And as always, I don't clear people for a single vote claimed for the person and that voter ends up being fired. To easy to forget to lock in your vote and as such be fired for not voting at all.
With that said, a safety vote right now for chunnie. Edit - confirmed vote for chunnie

That's my thought especially in Round 1. I know this is a snowy game with lots of actives, but itdid take a long time to start. Also, there always seems to be someone (or more) that think they saved a vote and didn't.
Lastly, it is 50% of the votes cast, not the total number of players.

The way the answer is phrased, though, it sounds more like someone who doesn't hate sports but who maybe isn't overly active. (But again that could be the idea - mask love with tolerance.)

I think I will make the correct call that the others are unlikely to show up before the end of the round, and even if they do, perhaps the boss will have the dignity to not fire those who are active but not much help (yeah... like me  )

FROM THE RULES
Employees Win the Game: This happens when the Boss receives at least 50% of the votes. All employees who voted for the Boss that round are declared the winners of the game.
This would mean if we really do have 7/10 votes for Jake right now that is enough to cover the 2 that the boss and rat may have stated but not cast. Will update as more people state their intentions.

Keep in mind, even with BJ's list, she has 11 who has voted, and of course with my add on, the list is 12. 7/12 is a majority, but 9/12 to account for rat/boss. The numbers are real high early in the game to truly clear.
Most clears early in the game occur by people being fired for being a lemming. It is true, the first round is almost a gimme for the boss... unless all 20 players disclose their honest vote. I said it before, I will say it again. If only one person from the list that stated they voted for Jake is fired, he will not be cleared in my eyes. And to truly have a majority on him in round one - kinda hard to do. Too many variables, and too much risk at this time, hence why I stay clear of majorities in the first two rounds.
Edit - see you have updated your list BJ... thanks. You are doing fine... just remember its 50%+1, not just 50% of the vote.

Ok glad we did this. I also got some conversation going thanks to my "clear me" idea. Mind you I am not clear of being the rat but this will stop us from wasting a round later on. That always happens with me. Now starting in round 2 I can play unrestricted without you all wasting a round on me on the last round and costing us the game.
This had happened so often. I understand it is odd to some of you but if you go through what I did you would understand.

ATM we have 7/12 votes for Jake. Subtract two for the boss and rat, and we still need at least two more votes (once again assuming I have the math right).
The boss can't fire those who vote for him/her, so I will change back to my original vote for PYTHON in the morning if we still don't hold majority. That way, at least of I'm fired, PYTHON will be cleared.

You need to count the boss in the number of votes because even though he doesn't actually vote he will state a vote and if you are not the boss the boss will most likely go along with voting for you since it would give him an extra round.
@ mason jake has not posted a vote so if at the end of the round he still hasn't voted 1 of 4 things could happen
1. He could be the boss and we won
2. He is the rat and hacked the system
3. He is a human and forgot to vote and is a mandie
4. He is a human that voted with out telling us (which would be bad since we are clearing him)
I will change my vote to jake but I really think we should have cleared one of the five that has sports as an interest.

Jake's right, unless he claims to vote himself, we only need 50% +1 (for the rat) to clear him. It makes no sense factoring in that the boss could be someone else, because in that case Jake wouldn't be the boss!
To be absolutely sure he's cleared, we need 11 votes. So far, we have 9. Considering that there will be inactives, I'd say that 9 is a pretty good number, though 10 would be better.
Oh, and I think you guys missed that buu claimed to have voted for me.

With my OCD like ways it will drive me nuts not to have the list organised alphabetically and by vote.

I don't usually make it late enough into the game to have the same issue you have, Jake, but I've seen it happen where one person just seemed so suspicious they garnered most of the attention throughout the game. A valid point about clearing you early on.
Well, I'll be a true Lemming and just do whatever everyone else decides. So, Jake or HABS?I misread the rules I apologize.
I thought if Tue rat received 25% of the vote or more he could be fired. Turns out it is the boss. Nvm my silly misread.

Also next round we should try for HABS or one of the other four. Right now I will press for HABS next round. Just in case we don't get a majority on me this round I will place a vote for HABS as well.
I voted HABS.
Since I am being cleared from being the boss I triple checked. Yes I voted and for HABS. Vote confirmed.

According to rhythmic's voting list, we should have 11/14 of the votes for Jake (yet again, if I did the math right ). Minus two for boss and rat is 9... we should have majority

Voting
In each round of the game, the employees will cast votes for the Boss. The Boss and the Rat do not vote. The voting deadline will be clearly indicated. If you do not vote by the deadline, you will be instantly fired due to poor work performance. You may change your vote at any time up to the deadline.
Players may only discuss who they will vote for during the current round. Once the voting deadline passes, players may not say who they voted for or whether they voted for who they said they would vote for. Any violations of this rule will put those players on the firing list for rule infractions.
Please abide to the rules or I may have to remove you from the game. . . .

I know you stated your vote before the round ended, but you can't discuss your vote in any way once the round ends. It's easy to do. I've done it myself before.
