I would say that what makes me a good friend is much in line with the boss's answer. I am honest, and trustworthy, I would never intentionally hurt anyone (friend or foe) and I am anally dependable. If I say I'll do something, I do it (even at the expense of something I need done), if I telly you I'll be somewhere, I'm there. IF I say I'll be there at 90, I'm there at 8:30 NOT 91. Geez that felt like a job interview "what makes yyou the best candidate for this position"?? lol

I am inclined to believe the boss is female at this point but can't really gather anything else from the memo at this time. I will place a safety vote for now and will check back in the morning. I'vve stared some online classes and have a few hrs of lectures to et through before I go to bed.

not sure, but the memo sounds kinda feminine to me. not being sexist or anything, just stating what i felt about it.

random on habs for now.

Anyone who votes for the boss cannot be fired, so you don't necessarily need a majority to clear someone. If somebody is truthful about who they vote for and they are subsequently fired, we know the person they voted for is cleared.

I believe the memo sounds pretty feminine too. I think I will vote Camillee. A bit cautious of being a lemming first round though, something I often try and avoid.

EDIT: What makes me a good friend, is being loyal and dependable. Having someone you can count on is always important.

How can you be so sure, from 5 words? Sounds a bit rat like to me.

I'm now thinking of changing my vote.

I don't see the sense in encouraging a majority for reasons stated in my last post.

What qualities do YOU have that make YOU a good friend?

I am authentic, reliable, and a good listener.

I am contiunally amazed at how HABS' answers sound like me. I've noticed it other places as well, but the thing about always getting to places early is SO me. It drives the wife nuts sometimes. She hates when we get to a place 20-30 minutes early (or more sometimes) becuase I overcompensated how heavy traffic would be, how far the place is, etc.

II do the same thing. I don't think there is EVER an excuse to be late. "Well um ______" You should have allowed for that! I tell people "I was 6 1/2 weeks early for my own birth and I haven't been late since".

it drives the wife nuts sometimes.

I used to live with my sister and her eldest felt the same way. HE'd get so mad that when I said I'd pick him up from a friend's at 2, I'd be there at 2. Well,, I'd be there at 1:30 but wouldn't go to the door until 2. He said to me "Why can't you be like my Dad, if he says he'll be here at 2 he doesn't show up until 4". Yeh and that is why when I need him to bring you home at 4 I tell him it is imperative you are home by 1. That wa he might get you home on time." People who are always late drive me nuts. My parents are like that - never in a rush no plans just go with the flow (well at least now that they are retired) drives me crazy. I want a SET IN STONE itinerary. "We leave at 6, stop at 11, eat and back on the road by noon, no time for unscheduled stops.

I too don't know how anyone can be so sure about the boss based on one memo of a few words. All I can comfortably states is young, female.
And 2 Spanish words don't tell us anything. "HI GUYS" means nothing. Anyone can Google how to say anything in a foreign lacunae. Two words is not even enough to tell if the person can actually speak the language. Some may remember a few games ago where the French in the memo was very obviously done through a translator since no one who actually speaks the language would have worded it that way.
Point being, I am with the non-majority idea as we will still be able to learn from the firings as long as the mandatory firings don't take their toll.

The Rules say:
The Boss is only allowed to fire people who are on the Firing List. The Firing List contains the following people: 1. Lemmings 2. The Rat (If the rat forgets to hack the network, or if the Boss has received 25% or more of the votes) 3. Anyone that the moderator adds to the list for rule infraction or disorderly conduct.

The Boss will be allowed to fire a variable number of employees from the list depending on the game's logic. The game takes into consideration the round, the number of players left, and the number of people already fired that round due to non-voting.

If you voted for The Boss, you cannot be put on the Firing List.

It's good to remember this, its why you don't need a majority until later in the game, otherwise we will all be potential lemmings.

I agree that we need to have a majority so I will join the vote on camielle.

The qualities that make me a good friend are that I am trustworthy, a good listener, and helpfulness.

I wish I could get places on time but I can't drive so I have to rely on my mom and she is always late for everything. I was even 15 minutes late to my 8th grade graduation because my mom couldn't find anything to wear. For my junior prom I tried to have an itinerary but I had had to rely on everyone else.

My family has also learned that we can not make any plans because they never work out. For example last Sunday was my families christmas and we were not sure if my younger brother was going to be there. So my mom planned on him not to show up, well he did .

Majority

There are 3 people that have not posted if they do not show up this they will be manditories. With only 10 players in the game that should cover the rest of us from being fired. So this is the round to try and clear someone but I think we need to change the majority off of camillee to one of the people that are active so we can have a cleared person next round.

Since losing my sight (and Driver's License as a result) I have to take the bus everywhere. I still manage to get there on time (well early in my mind if you show up on time - you're late). This i just me and not meant to be a slam on anyone at all so please don't take it that way - but to my way of thinking if you are perpeturally late it is very disrespectful to others. If you tell me "I'll be there at 2:30 and don't show up until 40 - what you are in essence saying to me is "I don't value your time, that 90 minutes you sat waiting for me was not important" - I will wait to a certain extent (15 minutes or so) for a late party to arrive, after that sorry about your luck. What I find interesting is that in this day of everybody and their dog having a cell phone people cannot make it places or at least call to say "Hey I'm running behind" yet back when us old fogies were younger, you made plans on the phone at home (land line) and then left your house, no one had a way to get in touch with you again after that, yet me managed to coordinate our schedules much better than people do today. But then maybe we had to becuse we couldn't change them on the fly.
Okay that is my rant for today.

Sorry everyone, I'm active now, promise ^_^

Yeah, I'm all for getting a majority but like HABS and Skybet said, how can you tell from 2 words? I don't speak a lick of Spanish but I know what "Hola Chicos" means. In fact, sometimes I greet my friends in other languages (Ni Hao, Ohayou, Hola, Aloha etc). I dunno, it could be a clue but I think it's more of a misdirection; it's too blatant, imo.

21kaldridge21 wrote:

I agree - it's the safest time to gain majority, I think it should be on someone who adds to the game. I will vote for 21kaldridge21 b/c HABS suspects her, so we would be able to clear/catch Kal with a majority.

EDIT: I also agree with the majority: I'm told I'm a very good listener, I'm empathetic and open-minded (aka I don't judge, so people feel comfortable opening up to me), I'm trustworthy and respectful I also try to get places early but I understand it's not always something you can control - where I live, a 20 min drive could take an hour b/c of traffic - usually you know when it's the worst, but an unexpected accident & you're stuck there for quite some time. Or, you plan for it to take an hour and you're now 40 minutes early which can sometimes be just as rude as being late, in my opinion...

Oh I know all about traffic, I used to live in Toronto (where the highway is 16 lanes in places) and yes it could take an hour to go 10KM (6 miles) but more often than not it didn't and I always allow more than 2X what I need to to get somewhere. I agree being early is also rude that is why I would travel with books. If I got there too early, I'd sit and read in mycar until it was more appropriate to arrive. I'm not saying I've never been late, I just am so seldom late that I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of times in my life it has happened (and remember a thumb is not a finger).
I recall one time when I worked at the Pharmacy that I walked in just in time to punch in for my shift (about 5 minutes to the hour) and they were all worried about me "we were about to call the cops, where have you been"? It was so not my habit (there is some good English) to come in that close to my shift ( I would normally get there 30-45 minutes early and read in the lunchroom) that they truly were concerned as I was coming in form out of town and we had had a snowstorm.
That is part of the problem with the chronically late. You could be in a ditch somewhere and since we all expect you to be an hour late, no one notices you haven't shown up yet. I tell my husband that all the time, since you do this all the time, when do I start worrying? You could be missing for 3 days before I even realised it.

Yufie, I don't suspect Kal really, juust she fits the young female idea I have about the author of the memo. But so do a few others.

I hate to say it HABS but I'm late to nearly everything. I have to run down my street for the train every day. It's not out of disrespect for people, I'm just in my own world most of the time and forget how fast time passes and I'm awful at judging how much time things take. I think, I will just do the washing and clean the bathroom before I go out, then before I know it, I'm a half hour late! I'm sure I will learn to manage my time better eventually, and I am getting better. But just to put something forward for the people who are often late, as there are two sides to everything. From me its a bit of misjudgement more than disrespect. However in the same vein, because I know what I'm like, I'm also very tolerant of others when they are late.
