Welcome to Globe, the last bastion of civilisation in this forsaken planet. We are an international society accepting all requests from outsiders seeking to make a better life. All we ask is that you honour our rules and respect the leader (The Great Eye of Candor) and its wishes. All failure to do so will mean an expulsion from our bastion, immediately plunging you back into the corrupt wilderness.
Upon entry, however, all players are assigned to compete in a mandatory Witch Hunt. Of course, what our ancestors called witches (variously, bruja, hexe, majou) were nothing but unfortunate eccentrics targeted by overly zealous communities. No, your task shall not be a true witch in the term. Instead you shall all be truly put to the test. Particularly your loyalty to the Great Eye and to Globe in general.
All new entries must find the Rebel who dares oppose the Great Eye and execute him/her in a timely fashion. Failure to do so may mean further fractures within our perfect society. You must get the Rebel at all costs.
Along with the Rebel passing out copies of his/her disgustingly fallacy-riddled propaganda at the start of each round, there shall be rules each Globe-hopeful must respect for the duration of a round. Failure to meet each round's new standard by the end of the round will mean immediate expulsion from Globe.
Signing up for citizenship means you understand the above terms. Thank you for your consideration and we hope you enjoy your residence in Globe.

Welcome aboard, Shadows. Don't forget to vote.
The Globe would like to take this opportunity to remind its potential citizens that democracy is an integral part of any well-functioning community. [Provided the citizen is given permission to vote as they choose to, of course.]

Don't get all mushy there, stew!
I just want to know if the rest of the players want to role play this game. It will make it more fun!
I am ready to find this rebel, sir!

Welcome Stewie and Scrub to Globe.
[I don't expect everyone to role-play, but I personally always like trying it when I can. Go right ahead, Scrub. Not too many weeks ago I added two more dystopian novels to my belt, so I've been somewhat influenced by that turn of events (We and The Giver).]
Choose Globe for a better tomorrow and a better today. (Mind you, we don't really hold the cards on yesterdays.)

Welcome HABS and Har.
The rebel is the ..." good guy"? If the written transmissions aren't malfunctioning then that sounds tantamount to a confession to having subversive ideals and actions. The entree known as Har sounds like a plausible rebel and once the game commences should be suspected with extreme prejudice.
[Obviously I don't have to say a dictator is good and actually believe it. No matter what you believe, Har. ]

Cool. We have 10 players. I suppose now's the time when I apologize to everyone for making it a 15 player game instead of a 10 player one. [The last game I modded was pre-apocalypse and thus I guess I'm just still used to games of 15.] I'll try and drum up some more people by simple adverts.
I promise to also try and send notifications before the game starts just in case signups take too long. I'd hate to get to 15 and then have the boss not show up.
Also, I know it's based on the reality show, but isn't it a little funny how just above this game is one called Big Brother?

Thank you all for signing up to be admitted to Globe. It will only be [x] hours and [y] minutes before the hunt begins. Such a [waitlen-var] amount of time!
I warn you, eager ones, you will not all be deemed fit for Globe's purposes. But those who do succeed should count themselves as truly fortunate. If you have proven yourself, welcome. Be careful of others, work hard, keep your eyes to the ground, nose to the grindstone, and follow every round's rules and you may just survive this small trial. Or you may not and wish that you had stayed back in your primordial caves.
I shall notify you all of your first rule when [x] hours and [y] minutes have elapsed. Please be patient and thank you for being chosen by Globe.

I don't want to be an outcast any more. Loyalty to the globe! I will show all of you loyalty by finding the rebel myself. It is obvious from the posts who does not really want to be here.
Wait !! What???^
I Don't have a clue about this Globe thing...But It sounds like Tyranny to me ...So I will fight it!!!
Does that make me a rebel??? If it does so be it...But I assure you sheep that I am NOT the boss...
Mod note: Redacted for the ensurance of good morals.

[There is only one extra rule: adherence to an additional rule per round. I'm going to try to make it simple to follow. The roleplaying is not necessary, though I must thank Scrub again for doing well at it.
However, if you think this game is Werewolf, I would recommend looking at the rules for Who's the Boss.]
At the sound of the tone, there are [x] hours and [y] minutes remaining before commencement. Please enjoy the mandatory reeducational video narrated by Bing Crosby as you continue to wait.

Scrub, could I perhaps join you in your quest to locate the rebel? I would love nothing more than to prove my loyalty to the Globe.
The Rebel? There seems to be rebels all around us. What ingrates... Globe has given us everything we have.

I know, it's like there are some here who prefer the wilderness to civilization. Why do they want to be considered as globe-hopefuls in the first place?
Har - this is really easy.
Boss = The Rebel
Rat = not sure?? The Rebel's helper?
Workers = globe-hopefuls
In order to join the globe we must find and kill The Rebel.

The Globe has given us everything, and we should be grateful. There is no room here for unappreciative rebels.
Ehhh. Darn it Braingle! Looks like I should have asked about the timer. You see, I had thought that I actually did still have 24 hours left. Apparently not. I'm very sorry everyone. I had only tried to hold out to ensure the three inactive players might come back and not be cleared. I did send them PMs but obviously that wouldn't help unless it actually linked outside Braingle.
I suppose it would be a bit unfair to ask you lot to try again, since it was my mistake, but I'll make a new game with the same premise and just be quicker on the trigger finger, if anyone's interested. I am sorry to our boss and rat, both of whom were more than capable of being active and contributing to a great game. I take full responsibilities for this failure. [Unlike in a real dystopia, I won't blame everyone else. ] This is one of the few times to happen to me. Usually I just start almost when I get the memo. I was trying different things and failing at them.
Oh, and, just for the curious, the rat was supposed to be pretty much a typical main character from a dystopian novel: he/she starts out believing in the leader, but then realizes the corruption and seeks to stop it. The rebel was like the Julia to the rat's Winston, if you will.
