The Phonetic Mnemonic System can be used to memorize playing cards. This can be a helpful advantage when playing a game of cards such as poker or blackjack because you'll be able to remember all the cards that have been played. It can be difficult to remember the cards as-is but by assigning a keyword to each card, you can make them more memorable. Keywords can be assigned to playing cards in the following way:
The first letter of the keyword should match the first letter in the suit (Hearts=H, Spades=S, Clubs=C, Diamonds=D). Then, use the phonetic sound associated with the value of that card to form the word. For example, we know that in the Phonetic Mnemonic System, the 'n' sound is assigned to the number 2, so the 2 of hearts could be represented with the word 'hen.' Likewise, the 8 of clubs could be "calf" or "cave." For 10, use the phonetic sound for 0 (10 of diamonds = dice). For the cards higher than 10, we use the double-digit value (J=11, Q=12, K=13). For example: King of Spades = Stem.
Now, if you want to remember that a player just played the 9 of clubs and the 4 of hearts, just visualize a 'cop' with really long 'hair.'

The opposite of a type A personality is type B. These people tend to be more relaxed and calmer than their type A counterparts. Type B people are easy-going, uncompetitive and more realistic about deadlines and goals. They know their limits and rarely push them. Type B people are often called socializers because they enjoy parties and being in groups. Type B people are very easy to get along with because they rarely get irritated or bothered.
As you might expect, type B people have a lower incidence of heart disease and other stress related illnesses.

"Groupthink" is a term used to describe a process whereby a group can make bad decisions even though each individual in the group may realize that the result is going to be bad.
People have a strong need to feel accepted in a group. Whenever an individual participates in a group, it causes the other participants to react in some way. People want to be liked, so they tend to participate in a way that gains them acceptance. One way to gain acceptance is to be very agreeable and not rock the boat. When a bad or bland idea is introduced, very few people may challenge it. If nobody proposes a better idea, groupthink can result.
Proposing a creative idea that differs from the group exposes the person and puts them in a vulnerable position. Nobody wants to fail in front of their peers or superiors. As a result, wild ideas are frequently self-censored or toned down to a level that is easily assimilated by the group. Unless there is a process that encourages wild ideas, they will seldom be introduced and groupthink can result.
Groupthink can also occur if an idea comes from higher up in the corporate ladder. Nobody wants to disagree with their boss, even if they know that the boss's idea will fail.
Brainstorming is a process that encourages wild ideas. This is one way to avoid groupthink.
