"A man lies dead in a room with fifty-three bicycles in front of him.
What happened?"

These are called situation puzzles.  In the game of situation puzzles,
a situation like the one above is presented to a group of players, who
must then try to find out more about the situation by asking further
questions.  The person who initially presented the situation can only
answer "yes" or "no" to questions (or occasionally "irrelevant" or
"doesn't matter").
