| or "I want three more wishes" |
|
| Posted by missie | 04/28/02 |
| I thought it was a pretty good teaser! I thought that maybe he could say, "I wish my mother, father, and wife were happy with what they want>" or sumtin. |
|

| That is a good one!!!!! :) |

| This was quite a good brain teaser. Obviously, many answers could be used - but I think the one that is given is the best answer. Requires some thinking. |

| That answer just doesn't appeal to me. HELKATW, your first comment is nitpicking like some others and your second is highly cynical although probably accurate. |

| Just to pock a little hole, what if those parents are his adoptive parents?
Still a right corker!! |

| That was really good!
Some of my friends from school even told me that they read the situation on briangle.com! It's so popular! |

| If there's one bad servant teaser, I haven't heard it!! |
|
| Posted by Christina0213 | 03/09/03 |
| Hehe. Very clever, and much simpler than what I thought of - I thought he would wish to have a son who would become a famous eye doctor - then the son would become rich and maybe give money to the grandfather, and fix the grandmother's eyesight. But now that I think of it that wouldn't work because by the time the son grew up the grandmother would be very old....very good! :) |

| :D good, but a little easy. |
|
| Posted by sissy245 | 10/23/04 |
| That was really clever! I thought he would ask for more wishes |
|
| Posted by poljay | 02/25/05 |
| Simple maybe, but I didn't guess it. I went with the wish for three more wishes thing, too. Think the servants answer is much better. |
|
| Posted by whaleycm | 03/28/05 |
| The answer is stupid. The riddle was wirtten out very well and it made e hope for a great answer. What does a swing of gold have to do with it. You could have used any example but you picked a "swing of gold"....stupid! |

| Ok, I was way off. :-? |
|
| Posted by deadeye823 | 04/26/05 |
| an ok teaser, only because it has so many alternate answers. when i read it i thought the servant would ask for three more wishes, or something like that. and by the way sk8babe, itss a mystery teaser not a situation teaser :P |
|
| Posted by norcekri | 05/24/05 |
| Well, I'm going to take a shot here about that "swing of gold" phrase. My gues is that's the phrase used in the reference from whence our member cribbed the puzzle. This is an oooold folk riddle. |
|
| Posted by padme | 05/30/05 |
| cool, but how is he going to grant those wishes? |
|
| Posted by drift15 | 06/10/05 |
| heehee...clever. :D |
|
| Posted by brainfog | 06/19/05 |
| Kind of cool that the servant never directly asked for anything for himself, yet prospered by asking for others. I'm sure he finagled a cut of the gold swing after the fact, was happy to have a little one to carry on his name, and was glad his mom could see him again (which also helped with the baby sitting!). Fun! :D |

| wow that one was really good i said that he wanted to be the milloniare because if the millionare was married and had a son,and had an alive mother then it would work because he would also be rich |

| I was thinking he could ask for a son who will become a wealthy and good eye doctor. Not a bad riddle at all  |
|
| Posted by FerretGirl | 09/28/05 |
| clever! |
|
| Posted by centerofme | 09/30/05 |
| he could ask for 3 wishes.then wish for gold.next,a baby of any sex.last, wish for good eyesight for the mother.that would all add up to a wish.the grandson wouldn't like to swing on gold all day wouldn't she/he.... |
|

| I liked it! I had quite a few different scenarios but yours was better, shorter and cooler! :D  |
|
| Posted by peppamintp | 11/20/05 |
| This was very well written and much fun trying to figure out what he was going to ask for. For this to be a family sight you people sure don't mind calling one another out of their name. If you don't like it so be it but to be so rude and mean is uncalled for. Children read these comments! |

| Clever answer, requires some thought behind it. |
|

| This is actually a really neat teaser! I loved it! My answer was totally far off    , but I really enjoyed it!!!!!! GREAT JOB! :D :D :D |
|
| Posted by SPUTNIK2 | 02/20/06 |
| Or he could have simply asked for 3 more wishes ( turn his one wish to 3) :D |

| To me, this one was a bit boring. |
|
| Posted by OldChinaHand | 04/27/06 |
| A very old tale indeed, probably Persian or Indian, there is an old Chinese version 'with the grandmother watching her grand child dancing in a silk robe.' 8) |

|
| Posted by 4demo | 05/24/07 |
| I thought he would have asked that his mother, wife, and father each receive one wish, but your answer was much more creative and fun! I don't really know if the gold swing is specific enough, since the servant's son could have been at a wealthy man's house with his grandmother, but still, excellent teaser! :D |
|
| Posted by EienNiKirei | 10/19/07 |
| He didnt ask himself what he wanted? Awwww thats sweet of him to think of his family. :D |

| Just your Old Run of the Mill Wish Teasers. To swing on a Swing made of gold, does not include the Grandfather's Wish. Perhaps a bar of gold the size of a swing provides much wealth, but the third wish, ah there is a first, second and third wish. Simple: One Wish ~ Allow my Grandmother to see My Son who will become Wealthy.  I like that as One Wish, not Three wishes. All wishes must be something he could truly Desire.  |

| I was thinking something along the lines of "That i have a son who becomes an eye doctor who finds a cure for blind people, resulting in much wealth for our family."
or not :P |
|
| Posted by dance287 | 03/03/12 |
| Yay! I got it right! Another thing the answer could have been was that the servants says, "My mother to see her grandson playing with my father's money." |
|
| Posted by Candi7 | 08/24/12 |
| My answer: the servant said, "I wish fOr more wishes!! |
