"Numbers are to proportions as words are to analogies."
A proportion is an equality of two numerical ratios, and a verbal analogy shows an equivalence between two pairs of terms, relative to each other ("A is to B as C is to D"). The sentence is itself an analogy, and the initials of the answers spell out "two ratios," as two ratios are involved in any proportion or analogy.
