Acceptable, but quite boring.
Relax, eighsse .....
I'm sure you will eventually get a rebus submittal approved, and I am sure it will be "perfect".
Meantime, denigration of the teasers of others won't get you there any faster.
But ... if it would help, send me a personal note and I'll try to assist you in some you are developing.
Thanks for your comment - and your vote (if you did so).

What are your Q's ???
What are your Q's ???
congratulations on getting your puzzle approved.
But I'm perplexed as to how
the answer only relates to one line out of three in the puzzle (rumor + it). The other two lines of the puzzle appeared to be completely extraneous to the solution of the puzzle. I've never seen this in a rebus before.
Unless I'm missing something the lines about gossip and hearsay are completely irrelevant to the solution of the puzzle. Again I've never seen a rhebus where 2/3 of the information presented is meant to be disregarded in coming up with the solution.
Thanks for responding. You can also email me at [email protected]. Thanks.

to Patfan ....
Thanks for your comment. I agree that this is not one of my best Rebuses. But most of the 'game' here at Braingle is 'point accumulation' so I submit a VAST number of Rebus ideas to the 'Editors' (not really Editors because they do very little 'editing') in hopes a few will get through their mysterious judgement process.
I see you are a relatively newcomer to this mess so I have a few suggestions for you. Please excuse me if you've already - wherever and however - gained some traction in these areas but I don't know you so I'm shootin' in the dark.
01. Read up on Rebuses. Very few Braingle members understand the definitions and structures of Rebuses and that is especially true of the 'Editors'. There is NO single 'definition' for 'Rebus' that is totally functional for all of us here so we are not all fishing in the same pond.
02. Look at some of my other Rebuses. I have something over 50 or so listed. Also look at the Rebuses of my sister (LittleGreenMan) and those of Dad (original BadBunnee). We all three draw from Dad's extensive repertoire of over 1000 Rebus ideas. There are a few better ones there.
03. If you do 01 and 02 above you should realize that Rebuses often rely on homology in terms of construction and decipherability.
04. Also read carefully the FAQs here on this website concerning what is acceptable as a Rebus. Jake (owner & operator of the site) has limited Rebus submittals to 'common', 'colloquial', or 'idiomatic' expressions only and only as multi-word phrases.
So ... you should see that this Rebus relies on the homology of 'synonym' (gossip - rumor - heresay) to assist in solving the Rebus 'puzzle'. Since 'gossip has it'll' and 'heresay has it'd' are NOT common, colloquial, or idiomatic, then 'rumor has it' (which IS a common expression) becomes the only possible answer of the three.

sooo....
This is a way of saying (answer-wise) that 'rumor has it' but 'gossip' and 'heresay' do NOT. They might have 'It'll' or 'it'd' but NOT 'it'.
If this explanation does not fit your pistol than I suggest you take it up with the Editors. They didn't like it either but I have a nagging way of resubmit, resubmit, resubmit until I get (either) a nasty note from the Eds OR ... one approved.
Finally ... by way of suggestion to you ...
The best way this will make sense to you (I suspect) is for you to make a few stabs at submitting Rebus-wannabe material to the Editors.
You will (I predict) be absolutely AMAZED at their esoteric (and often ABSURD) reasoning concerning the rejection-acceptance game.
But if, however, you decide to leap into these shark-infested waters please let me assist you any way I can with whatever Rebus-ideas you may have.
Keep in touch.
