I've never heard of people saying "George Washington" or "Thomas Jefferson". When I was a kid, we never said "Like a flashlight." We just repeated "Like a lightbulb". And question number 9 is just confusing. I had no clue what it was asking. All in all, really didn't like it. Sorry.
Fun quiz had a problem with some of the answers ( I learned it a little diferently) I guess it depends on where you live Oh well fun anyway

"Then one foggy Christmas Eve, Santa came to say"?
I've never heard the ho-ho-ho
I've only heard "What did he say?"
I think the side comments are regional...not anything that can be dictated. We always repeated "lightbulb".
Just did not like this, although I did okay...never heard "like a flashlight" or "ho-ho-ho"; also, never heard anything but "like Columbus"....not my thing at all ![]()
Hmm... did pretty well 8/10, but I really didn't like this quiz. I think the side comments must be regional as some people never even heard of them, so it seems unfair to grade us on something that doesn't really exist. Unless, there really is some copyrighted version of the song with the side comments out there. And I agree that #9 was a confusing question. Sorry.
Like some others here, I question a few of these because some are different depending on where you live, but still brings back good memories.
I'm going to be 63 years old soon, and this is the first time I've ever heard of "side comments" for Rudolph the red nosed reindeer. I don't remember any "side comments" on the Gene Autry recording that we always played at Christmas every year. Who thought up these side comments? And in the explanations, why didn't the author of this quiz explain where s/he heard people saying/singing side comments? ![]()
I never heard any of the side comments until my kids were in school in the 90's. Some of the raucous boys in the class sang those lines (some of them - there are 'lyrics' in this quiz that I've NEVER heard). I told my boys that it was rude and uncouth to sing those words. They believed me especially since one of those "side comments" sounds like the singer is making fun of our last name. They let the little Jim Carry wannabes mangle the song while they stuck to the real lyrics.
I checked over 20 different references, and not one spelled it Donnor. They all had Donner. Terrible quiz.
Oh, come on zoomiesponge! Go a little easier. Great quiz, although I've only heard "Like George Washington!"
I did the first two questions then stopped, what the heck are side comments and who exactly says these things. Totally bizare is all I can say.

i've never heard anyone say Like a flashlight in the 2nd verse (or whatever) and i've only ever heard George Washington. oh well, fun fun.
#2 is not flashlight. I have been singin this song since the 60's..and it's actually "like a candle". Candles glow, flashlights shine. ![]()
9/10 I can't believe there are still people in this country who've hever heard of the side comments. Must not hang around young kids during the holiday season.
Fun quiz, but like most people, I've always repeated "like a lightbulb". Maybe you ought to change the answer to include both flashlight and lightbulb.
