It was Louis Ixolite's bedtime and as usual he wanted a bedtime story.
He was a bright young man and had managed to communicate in Rebuses before he could speak.
Daddy asked Louis which story he would like to hear and Louis scribbled down the following Rebus in crayon.

Soybeans "blah blah blah"
Jack "blah blah blah"
Kidneybeans "blah blah blah"

What story did Louis want to hear?

Posted by ygtbjkn on Aug 10, 2008

Waaaaaaaaaaay to easy!
Good though

Posted by zxyggrhyn on Aug 10, 2008

Easy.

If Jack wasn't there, I bet it would have been harder, I guess.

Posted by doehead on Aug 10, 2008

Another one for the under 10 yr old group!!

Posted by cheesepie on Aug 10, 2008

I knew the answer was jack in the beanstalk but I didn't know how it came out to be that .

Posted by bradon182001 on Aug 10, 2008

I agree with cheesepie. I knew the answer, but don't understand the rebus. Are there two answers to it: Jack and the Bean stalk, AND Jack and the beans talk?

Posted by phyllisa on Aug 10, 2008

GREAT rebus, LOL!!!!

Posted by srpwuzhere on Aug 10, 2008

LOL Mr. "Rebus Machine"? Nice. It was really easy though. Probably cause of Jack though.

Posted by ldswordpainter on Aug 10, 2008

Easy but cute.

Posted by Jazzy_Sammy_13 on Aug 10, 2008

Very cute!!

Posted by auntiesis on Aug 10, 2008

I got it , I got it ! It was kind of easy, but saying it out loud made it so easy. Thanks for a good one.

Posted by jennsingergirl on Aug 11, 2008

That was sooo cheesy! =P

Posted by Barticus on Aug 11, 2008

Brandon, the answer is "Jack and the Bean stalk". The explanation of the rebus is "Jack and the beans talk".

Posted by TallTimber on Mar 21, 2010

Clever.

Posted by thebrain789 on Jul 08, 2010

I knew it was "Jack and the Beanstalk" without figuring out the rebus.

Posted by Babe on Aug 10, 2011

No challenge whatsoever. Way too easy. Yawn!

Posted by gaylewolf on Aug 10, 2011

Yes, it was easy, but it was clever and funny! I love a good pun. Have a great day, my friends!

Posted by Marple on Aug 10, 2011

So easy but lots of fun.

Posted by doehead on Aug 10, 2011

AROB for the little ones.

Posted by gaylewolf on Aug 10, 2011

Rockstar, please explain yesterday's comment - "Buffalo, buffalo...." sentence. Thanks!

Posted by rockstar1009 on Aug 10, 2011

This one was SO simple, mainly because of "Jack" - to make it tougher, you could change the name to John, since Jack is short for John (somehow I didn't invent the English language, I simply utilise it).

Of course, just as many would then scream it's too hard since they don't know the John/Jack connection as you have saying it's too easy.

Posted by rockstar1009 on Aug 10, 2011

Gayle - that one's way above my level to explain in simple terms, but it basically revolves around buffalo being usable as a noun (the animal), verb (meaning to bully) and proper noun being used as an adjective (as in from the city of Buffalo). "Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo" means that some bison bully the bison from the city of Buffalo. The REALLY long sentence is confusing to explain, so I'll let wiki do the talking.

For those of you interested, rockstar1009 and gaylewolf are referring to my teaser #48628; Buffalo: Revisited.

Thank you, rockstar, for the added help.

Thank you, RockStar, and you also, BB02, for the explanation and the additional link. I really enjoyed and appreciated your help. I'm still a little baffled about how to read the Buffalo, buffalo sentence so it makes sense to me. But, thanks, anyway!! I guess that's called the buffalo baffle

Posted by HABS2933 on Aug 10, 2011

Rockstar, I too thought that subbing John for Jack would make more challenging. Though it was easy it was still clever.
