In Cryptography teasers, a phrase or expressions has been encoded in some way (frequently by replacing letters with other letters). You need to figure out the encoding method and then decode the message to find the answer.

Members always have the choice of passing any teaser which they dont like. So it is not fair to comment harshly on teasers that dont appeal to them or those that are 'easy' to crack. We have people of all types of likes and dislikes accessing this site, and a teaser composer cannot cater to all tastes. Their efforts should be appreciated.  |

Posted by labsmith on Aug 03, 2006 When I first saw the code on the page I said oh no, I''m not trying cryptography, I know nothing about it and would hate it. Today I tried it in the interest of improving my aging brain and I did well. It's true, I had to make educated guesses at times and would have been frustrated if I had had to redo much of the teaser. The puzzles we like least are often the ones we need most. I look forward to more like this one and thank the writer for introducing me to cryptology. I feel like a spy! |
