Posted by bluetwo on Jun 04, 2002 Just because you can break down a word into it's roots (ie, foramen- and -fera) does not make them suffixes. By letter of grammatical law, "An affix added to the end of a word or stem, serving to form a new word or functioning as an inflectional ending, such as -ness in gentleness." This was a good puzzle! |
