It takes a clock 2 seconds to strike 2 o`clock.

How long will it take to strike 3 o`clock?

Answer

It will take 4 seconds.

Since the clock strikes 2 o`clock in 2 seconds, these two seconds are the interval between two strikes. Between the first and the third strike there are two intervals, so it will be 4 seconds.
