My Bottle DepositMath brain teasers require computations to solve.

In Delaware, you must pay a deposit on all bottles and you can return your bottles to receive your deposit back. If you buy a bottle of soda for $2 and the deposit is $1.60 less than the actual cost of the soda, how much is the deposit for?
HintThe answer is not 40 cents.
AnswerThe answer is 20 cents. Since the deposit is $1.60 LESS than the cost of the soda, that the total for the cost for the soda must be $1.80, plus 20 cents deposit, which equals the $2 you paid for the soda.
