Delete a Letter 6
Language brain teasers are those that involve the English language. You need to think about and manipulate words and letters.
Each pair of definitions is for two words, where the second word is the first word with a letter deleted (example: brand & band). The length of the first word in each pair is provided, along with the position of the deleted letter to obtain the second word.
1) saturated with liquid (5 letters) & (delete 2nd letter) steam
2) a narrow crack (5 letters) & (delete 5th letter) a part of the one's face
3) a dry finely ground substance (6 letters) & (delete 4th letter) wattage
4) to draw and sketch preliminary outlines (6 letters) & (delete 3rd letter) to condescend

Posted by Puzzle_Master on Jan 08, 2013 If you wanted to up the difficulty a bit, don't tell the solvers which letter to delete to get the second word. Other than that, I found this to be a great brainteaser! |
