It was also the first film to be criticized as scandalous and brought demands for censorship. Howard Hughes was the aviator heir. The Motion Picture Association of America withdrew its seal of approval for his controversial 'sexy' western epic about Billy the Kid titled 'The Outlaw' (1943).
