The first rule is about odd numbers and the second rule is about even numbers.Answer
1st pattern is 4, 2, 12nd pattern is 16, 8, 4
The rules are:
If odd, multiply by three and add one.
If even, halve the number.
Both the numbers are doomed to a 4,2,1 pattern.
