Manifold Tiles II
Language
Language brain teasers are those that involve the English language. You need to think about and manipulate words and letters.Language
You have in front of you a 3x3 matrix of Manifold Tiles. Each of the tiles has one letter on its face. The tiles are folded in the fourth dimension, and whenever a row or column of tiles is shifted, the tile that leaves the matrix reappears on the other side. For example, if one row of tiles is ABC, and the entire row is slid to the right, the C would move to the left to form the word CAB.
The matrix is set up in this arrangement:
Row 1: A C U
Row 2: E D N
Row 3: E T D
Making only three shifts, can you form a crossword? A shift constitutes sliding a row or column (but not a diagonal) far enough so that exactly one tile disappears off an edge of the matrix and reappears inside the opposite edge. Each shift is on a different row or column, and you may shift left, right, up, or down.
