Theo The Thespian IV

Theo Cartwright is an amateur actor and playwright. It is his dream to be able to do what he loves professionally. Unfortunately, every time he performs one of his plays, the critics always pick out something that is wrong with it.

Theo was getting desperate. He needed a foolproof idea. He had decided to do a show where nothing could go wrong and which also had some international appeal!

It was the sad tale about a poor Irish boy who grew up in a poverty-stricken town, set during the times when people were flocking to live the 'American Dream' in America. Theo's character decided to do the same. Theo's main monologue came at the midway point his character's voyage to America.

"Here I am," Theo started, "I'm finally making my own decisions in life! This is unreal. I can't believe it. You hear about people doing this sort of thing, but never in a million years did I ever think I would. They say the first man-made thing you see is that new Statue of Liberty, far in the distance. Then you land, and they take you to Ellis Island to be cataloged! Y'know, to make sure you don't bring a disease to the country and so they know who you are. Cataloged! Can you imagine me being cataloged? Look! There it is! You see? In the distance? That green blob, right there! The first thing I see..." Theo's eyes started to well up with tears. "Here I am. I can't believe this. There she is. You can see her green face now. She's smiling at me. This is so surreal..."

The curtains came down and there was a thunderous applause! This was it; Theo knew he had finally beaten the critic and written a flawless play.

After everyone had left, Theo met up with the critic. Theo was somewhat smug about himself.

"So," he said, "What did you think? There were absolutely no mistakes in that show."

"Actually, Theo," the critic answered, "there were 2 mistakes! I'm most certainly going to have to give you a bad review this time!"

The critic then left Theo standing somewhat bewildered. What mistakes had Theo made?
