Answer
a wavelines 1-2: The "whose" refers to light. Light has a dual nature which exhibits properties of both waves and particles, which is known as the wave-particle duality. "One would stumble like a fool" in the dark without light.
lines 3-4: These two lines refer to sound, which is transported by (a) wave(s). The first "drum" refers to the musical instrument, and "the other" refers to the ear drum. The brain perceives the sound once it has been received by the ear drum.
lines 5-6: "Boards" refers to surfboards, which aren't much good without (the formation of) a wave.
lines 7-8: A wave is a gesture used both when parting ways and when greeting each other in (re)union.
The title alludes to a wave that can be surfed, as in "catch a wave".
