Brain Teasers
Good Scientist, Bad Scientist
One day, a great scientist gone bad decides to wreak havoc on others in his profession. He has another scientist kidnapped, uses an evil formula that disables 4 of the good scientist's five senses: his sight, his smell, his taste, and his sense of touch. He then has him strapped to a bed very securely. He then says, 'I am going to place a single object in the center of this room with you. If you want to live, you will have something to tell me about the object when I return. Please do not insult my intelligence by telling me that it is an object, or an object that I placed in the room, or anything having to do with me, or the object's location for that matter. We both know it is an object, that I put it here, and that it is in the center of the room. You must therefore state a SCIENTIFIC FACT about the object.'
Before leaving though, he says: 'Silly me, I almost forgot...' (He then disables the good scientists hearing. Now he has none of his senses to work with). He returns after one hour, restores all of the scientist's senses, and says: 'So tell me something about the object professor.' The good scientist saves his own life with his answer, to the chagrin of the evil scientist.
What, though, could he have possibly said, being that he had no senses?

Answer
The good scientist simply said: 'It is a SCIENTIFIC FACT that the object you placed in the center of the room with me has MASS.'All OBJECTS have mass.

Very good!
I thought of nothing, seing as how he was evil and may have tried to trick him. Very good ridle.
Thanks guys. Much appreciated. Be sure to check out the others. (Click on my name).
Cool. Fun but not so difficult. I think it has weight and occupies space are acceptable answers too from a scientific point of view. Same thing as mass though. Thanks for the teaser.
When u said a scientific fact, i kinda figured it right away.
Love it
Cute ... he could have said a bundle of things but still a GREAT riddle ... I thot of nothing too Oo; nehow ... ill chek out ur others now

Interesting but the answer is incorrect: Not all objects have mass. Gluons are the subatomic particles which are responsible for the strong nuclear force. They bind quarks together and have zero mass.
No, I believe you are incorrect: Gluons are not OBJECTS (which is what was placed in the room). Also (for that matter) Photons don't have mass.
other answer: "that object made no noise while you were gone. also, you seem to be the figmet of a highly screwed up imagination."
What about volume?
Loved it!!! Going to my favourites!!!
I think that answer insulted both of their intelligences.
Pretty minimalist answer. He was prohibited from just saying "it's an object", and saying it has mass is not much better. I assume the object was removed before all the good scientist's senses were restored. But, he could see the room. He could declard that, assuming an object was placed in the ceter of the room and then removed, that the object dimensions would allow it to pass through the door. Given that the evil scientist placed the object, he could also deduce that it's weight was bounded by what a man could lift.
