I live near Boston and I still could not get this one. Great teaser!
Must be down to local dialect, I would pronounce them as AustIN and BostON. which don't rhyme that well, but would if pronounced as AustIN and BostIN, or AustON and BostON. Nice all the same.
Dialect, schmialect. Boston rhymes with London. Don't you live somewhere close to London, mad-ade?
Clever. I like it.
Cool
To me, they certainly rhyme. Since I was raised in Texas, I got it almost immediately. Good puzzle!!
so many capitol cities, so little time. Great teaser!
Very clever! I liked it!!!
They do rhyme. The "in" and "on "are unaccented syllables and are pronounced with the shwa sound which, in the dictoinary is represetned by an upside-down "e".
Heard this one before,so it was easy.
--represented--sorry!
I miss unterstood. I thought they ment didnt have any vowels.

Don't forget Trenton, Nu Joyzee.

I agree with builder. Nice teaser. Thanks for posting.
Being a little rusty on my capitols I confess I looked at a map Still was lots of fun and the review was helpful.
Got it after 30 seconds. Fun teaser.
Scary, you folks who don't know what "rhyme" means
I cast my mind's eye around the map, starting with Hawaii and Alaska, heading south and east, and as soon as I hit Texas I said, "Austin/Boston"!! That was fun and satisfying--thanks so much for posting!

I'm with mad-ade on this one. IN and ON don't rhyme.
I add another American (pronunciation) vote that the rhyme DOES work; solid answer. Easy but fun teaser, resurrected from the archives!
Great teaser! Of course, I'm kind of stupid, so I didn't get, but it was still good!
Darn, I thought one of them might be Tallahassee.
I agree wordmama, do any of you who are complaining know what RHYME means...
guess not, so sad. Please go complain about something that needs to be complained about like your teachers failure.

Yes, ygtbjkn, I do know what rhyme means, but these don't rhyme with some non-American accents including my own. Please stop being offensive about the education of those who aren't from your part of the world.
i live 2 hours from austin and i didnt get it ahh well good teaser
Austin & Boston. They rhyme.
I didn't think of it, but they DO rhyme.

I AM a poet and ' in' and 'on' do NOT rhyme. If you are too lazy to do correct pronunciation, then you can say they rhyme. But they do not!
I agree with that they don't rhyme.
Austin:
Boston: /'b(o)st(e)n/ (the (o) is the laterally inverted, whatever it's called, and the (e) is the schwa)
Austin: /'(o)stIn/ (the I is the smaller capital I symbol)
Still, they're similar, so the teaser's fun too.

I meant the laterally inverted 'a'
True, the words "in" and "on" do not rhyme, but in the cases of Austin and Boston, the last two letters have the "un" sound, so they do rhyme! This was a good teaser - I was looking for capitals that had the "ay" and "eigh" sound.
They way I have always heard both cities pronounced they rhyme. I have always heard them said as AustIN and BostIN (said as if it ends with IN instead of ON). Just because someone pronounces something differently than someone else does NOT make them wrong. And if it does who is right? YOU or the other person? They will of course say THEY are. People from England pronounce a lot of words differently than people in the US do - so which country says it "right"? Even from state to state or city to city, there are differentness. What make you more right than someone else?
There was a young lady from Boston,
Who wanted to fly back to Austin,
She couldn't find Logan,
So quoted a slogan,
That Boston's the city I'm lost in.
(never could do poetry)

I think the poetry was just fine. Nice teaser! I don't think I would have guess Austin and Boston. I was looking at the spelling. LOL

The teaser was nice (I did not take the time to think it through and so did not get it), and I also agree that they DO rhyme. I also have to say that I LOVED the poem shared by gearget99!! Thanks for this evenings entertainment!
easy and fun...nice one!
Great teaser, I didn;t get it but I love it.
Same here, dear friend Auntie Sis. I LOVED it. Hope all is well!
Enjoyed this fun and entertaining teaser; I thought it was challenging even though it did not take me very long to get the answer.
I didn't get this one. In my now Floridian, formally New York accent, it is AusTIN and BosTON. It was fun trying to find 2 capitals that rhymed though. I agree it all comes down to accent, even if you don't think you have one!
Fun, easy and entertaining teaser. I got it very quickly and found it much easier than the first time I tried it.
