Brain Teasers
2000 Push-ups
Trick
Trick brain teasers appear difficult at first, but they have a trick that makes them really easy.Trick
Jon and Bob were betting on a baseball game and Bob lost. To get back at him he bets Jon.
Bob says, "I bet you I can do two to three thousand push-ups in 10 minutes."
Jon says, "Fine, let's see it. You couldn't possibly win that bet."
Bob won the bet. How is that possible?

Answer
He did two push-ups, since it is worded that he can do 2 - 3000, but Jon thought it was 2000 - 3000.Hide Answer Show Answer

This is one of those teasers that works much better when they are said aloud. When I saw it written, I guessed it right away. However, it stumped my hubby when I repeated it to him. So, good work.

hehe kool! i guesed it right away though.....
clever!
That is really easy, I rated it the lowest (easy) but I put the fun rating full. I think you're a great Teaser-Teller (lol)
ah see i decided that each push up was worth 1,000 (because the word "thousand" was after the "two" and the "three", i read it as "i can do two to three 'thousand pushups'")
love it!!!
Loved it. I would probaly on the lower end of that scale.
I got it immediately. I guess I look at things too literally. Well, that is what happens to people who write a lot......
a classic
HAHA!!!

clever and i must use this bet on my husband
I SHOULD HAVE CAUGHT THAT!!!!
This was on a Dilbert commic strip about a month ago cool.
This is a very old riddle. Quite easy when you've heard it hundreds of times.
A "trick wording" puzzle; reminds me of "if it takes two men a day and a half to dig a hole and a half, how many men does it take to dig a half a hole?"
Tricky, tricky. Thanks for posting.
Very funny Feste ! Good teaser, but easy.
Fun...heard it before but still fun!
easy but cute.
Got it straight away.
Easy, but I loved it. Also a good idea - I kind of want to make this bet with my brother.
A real oldie!
Heard this kind of question a lot so it was really easy. It's a good question but it's probably getting a little old.
I have never heard this particular teaser but have heard ones quite similar. As noted above, this works better verbally than in written form. Still a good teaser, and could fool some people.
That was really clever! I nevert hought of that!
A very old play of words.
I've heard something similar. This is a good one - I love it. Thanks for posting!
Fun, easy and entertaining teaser; I got it very quickly.
