PUFORPRAOSLLES
Answer
"FOR ALL INTENTS AND PURPOSES"1. The words FOR ALL are lodged in the words "TEPEES", which is another word for TENTS. Thus, FOR ALL is "IN-TENTS" (INTENTS) making up the part of the expression: "For all intents"
2. The words FOR ALL are then also lodged in the word "PURPOSES", thus adding the second part of the expression: "and purposes," (because now the FOR ALL is in TENTS AND in PURPOSES)
'FOR ALL IN TENTS [INTENTS] and PURPOSES'

Good job. May I make one small observation for my kid brother who likes this teaser so much. He said that technically it should read For all IN(tents) and IN(purposes). I don't necessarily agree with him. More teasers please.
I'm glad I've reached the next generation. As for the observation, according to Henry VIII (his quote) there should be only one "IN" that is: "For (or To) all intents and purposes."
Yes you are right. For all intents and purposes. What my kid bro meant was that the way the teaser was written the technical answer would be For all intents and inpurposes because For All was IN both tents and purposes. Btw my kid bro's user name is SCRAMBLE. Check out his teasers when he starts submitting his own. Smile.
You know, that is exactly what I thought you meant the first time. I went with my second thought. (First thoughts pay more). Waiting patiently for the first from Scramble.
I'm always a sucker for a good rebus and THAT was a good one!!!
Difficult teaser but nice explanation!
