Brain Teasers
CT Scanner
The technicians in the Radiology Department love to play word games on their breaks. Since they spend all day taking images of internal structures, they are particularly fond of finding words within words.
One day, Gizzer created a theme puzzle for the techs to solve, based on the CT (computed tomography) scanner, sometimes called a CAT scanner.
Gizzer created a list of words that begin with C and end with T. The letters between the C and T also form a word. Each clue provides a "definition" of both the full word and the embedded word. The length of each word is provided.
Example:
Healthy house in Switzerland (6) = ChaleT
Note that HALE means healthy (as in hale and hearty) and a CHALET is a house in Switzerland.
Can you figure out these clues?
1) Footwear to prevent falls in a meadow (5)
2) Customer's claim against property (6)
3) Misplace storage (6)
4) Hidden above (6)
5) Variation of a game played with mallets (7)
