Rubies of Light
Foretell of Neptune's perils and of his graces.
For travelers launched to faraway places.
Rejoice in the eve dripping with rubies of light.
Every predicted motion absent of plight.
But beware the blushing auroral stain.
With treacherous tides of jeopardy and pain.
Chart through these lines a blessing and a curse.
Tell me then, what is my verse?

Hint
Pay special attention to lines 3 and 5.Also, what type of person is most concerned with Neptune's "perils and...graces"?
Answer
This is an old rhyme used by sailors to predict weather patterns:"Red sky at night, sailors' delight
Red sky at morning, sailors take warning."
"Neptune" and "travelers" refer to the sailors. An "eve dripping with rubies" is a red sunset that brings good weather the next day. A "blushing auroral stain" is a red sunrise which would bring bad weather.

I'm not sure if that is good or bad...Thanks?
THAT WAS A TOUGH ONE BUT NICELY WORDED.
It sounded very nice although I only understood a couple of words, but still very nice.
Cool teaser! Fun take on an old saying. Keep 'em coming.
This is a tremendous teaser! Loved the poem and the metaphors; they are wonderful! Especially liked the "rubies of light" phrase! There were some awesome sunrises here last week, and did they ever predict the mess we are having now!
Great One!! I didn't think of that saying at all! (Completely slipped my mind, I guess!)..And I actually thought of Werewolves (even though some of the lines didn't quite work)..Because of the moon bringing about "treacherous" events..I was thinking of the 'moon'/'night' being stained with blood because of the change and the murders that might take place if a werewolf were to run into anyone ('travelers' maybe?) lol...It made sense in my head..But Nice riddle nonetheless!!!
