Letter-Equations
Letter Equations are well known phrases or facts where the key words have been replaced with the first letter of that word. These are often in the form of an equation, which contain a number, an = sign and the rest of the obscured phrase or fact.Letter-Equations
Listed below are a list of Letter Equations with most of the numerical element removed.
Below them are a series of algebraic equations.
Given the limited information supplied, can you work back from the answer to complete the missing numbers and letter equations?
T) 48 = H in 2 D
I) ? = D in 3 W
M) 240 = M in 4 H
E) ? = S in 2 M
F) ? = M in 3 Y
L) = (M / T) * E
Y) = F - I
S) = L / Y
What is the completed answer to all parts if S = 40?

Hint
Read down the letters for a clueAnswer
Keep in mind that the letters read down as Time Flys ( I know the spelling is incorrect)T) 48 = Hours in Two Days
I) 21 = Days in Three Weeks
M) 240 = Minutes in Four Hours
E) 120 = Seconds in Two Minutes
F) 36 = Months in Three Years
L) = (240 / 48) * 120 = 600
Y) = 36 - 21 = 15
S) = 600 / 15 = 40

Tough one, but clever.
Somehow I figured that out before doing the algebra thing below. Go me! Clever teaser.
interesting twist to all the other letter equations. but i couldn't get it, though.
GREAT TEASER!!!
I like this one a lot better than most letter equations. Well thought out, in my opinion
That was fun!! Good job!
I give ya an A+, that was alot of fun, thanks
Very nice! I'm not sure why you gave S=40 though, as that could be solved from the equations.
Yeah I'm with Paul on this one .... when I started simplifying everything down, I realized I wouldn't need S = 40 for anything because that's what I got for S.
I think this idea has merit though, and I had a lot of fun, though I guess I was expecting it to have some kind of twist.

Very cleverly written.
I got everything for TIMEF and nothing after that. Interesting and clever teaser but a bit confusing!
Great Teaser!!!!!!!!
I think S=40 is needed because we could have 116+ Mondays in 3 Years or 3 Marches ... an d there are possibly other variations. Enjoyable.
