Brain Teasers
Reindeer
Santa always leaves plans for his elves to determine the order in which the reindeer will pull his sleigh. This year, for the European leg of his journey, his elves are working to the following schedule, which will form a single line of nine reindeer:
Comet behind Rudolph, Prancer and Cupid. Blitzen behind Cupid and in front of Donder, Vixen and Dancer. Cupid in front of Comet, Blitzen and Vixen. Donder behind Vixen, Dasher and Prancer. Rudolph behind Prancer and in front of Donder, Dancer and Dasher. Vixen in front of Dancer and Comet. Dancer behind Donder, Rudolph and Blitzen. Prancer in front of Cupid, Donder and Blitzen. Dasher behind Prancer and in front of Vixen, Dancer and Blitzen. Donder behind Comet and Cupid. Cupid in front of Rudolph and Dancer. Vixen behind Rudolph, Prancer and Dasher.
Can you help the elves work out the order of the reindeer?

I'm sorry, but this is WRONG, everyone knows that Rudolph has to be at the front!:-) only joking, good teaser!
The first six are definite, but unless
I've missed something, the last three
can be in any of the orders: (Dancer, Comet, Donder),
(Comet, Dancer, Donder), or (Comet, Donder, Dancer).
We know that Comet is ahead of Donder, but we don't
know where Dancer stands with respect to the other two.

donder???? I thought it was Donner.
dewtell, it says Dancer behind Donder and Donder behind Comet.
So it does. I've long since discarded
my notes from when I was working out the
answer, so I have no idea how I missed
that. At least I had the good sense
to qualify my answer with "unless I've
missed something."

Wondering why the fun rating is low... I found this one a lot of fun!
I used slips of paper with the reindeer's names on them and placed them in different orders... that helped a LOT. I suggest to anyone that's stuck to try that! GREAT teaser!
In America, we use Donner. To us, Donder sounds too much like dander, which is related to dandruff, and that's gross.
