Brain Teasers
The Return of Inspector Ix
Inspector Ixolite and his assistant, Constable Landscape, were called to a bank after a robbery.
After searching the crime scene, Inspector Ixolite found a piece of paper in the empty bank vault.
A clue from the robber!
He lined up all the employees and, handing the paper to Constable Landscape, declared,
"One of this lot is involved in this, Constable."
Constable Landscape looked at the piece of paper. All that was written was;
JOAN B
Constable Landscape, not the sharpest tool in the box, immediately decreed,
"Right, which one of you is Joan? You are under arrest!"
Inspector Ixolite slapped his forehead in desperation and said,
"Constable, I doubt any of these are called Joan."
What did the Clue mean then?

That was cool! I wouldn't have thought of it, tho! Keep it up, MrIx!
i dont get it.
I don't get it either...
Sorry...
Sorry...
I can't really see how I can make the explanation in the answer any clearer
Don't worry, it makes perfect sense to me. I'm having an off day, otherwise I would have gotten it sooner!
not to bad...I liked it.

That was good, I envy you though. I am rubbish at thinking up puzzles. Five of mine have been dropped from the list.
I guess I am too logical for the puzzles posted here. The "clue" struck me as totally ridiculus, and the "solution" made no effort to exposed a culprit.
If you like this kind of puzzle you should check out Tom Underwood's Wuzzles in your local paper.

Trouble is Kim, that the category of Mystery is misleading. I wrote this as a rebus but it must have gotten changed.
Mr. IX, thanks. Read the comments before really looking at puzzle. When I read that you had originally done this as a Rebus, it was easy. Thanks. I like it when a plan comes together.
I have posted a correction, it should come through soon, thanks for the comment
I think the reason this was changed to mystery is because as a rebus it's an over-used technique.
Which is why I incorporated it into a story. It doesn't stop it being a Rebus.
It make a refreshing change to have an interesting story surrounding an otherwise simple rebus.
makes it more fun

That's it! I'm checking in for a brain transplant. My first thought was "Inside Job". Then I looked at 'JOAN B' and thought .... nope can't get inside job out of that
.... mind you I was watching Queensland smash New South Wales in the second State of Origin match at the time I was trying to do this puzzle.
Cool
I might have got it if the B was conected to the joan, but I guess the space is there for a reason.
