i don't get that at all!!!!!
Come on, tell me what you think. I am of the opinion that the Comment box is way under used. If you like it great, If you hate it, tell me. So I can fix the problem in future puzzles. Personally I think more feedback both good and bad can only help the website produce more fun for all. Even a little trash talkin' can be fun.
That's a fantastically difficult puzzle. I love it!
I must say this is a great one... but there is a variable... the I... it could be 31 or 29 depending on how you make the "I"
actually i found a cpl more... making the Y how it's shown here ur's works but i commonly make my y's with two marks... and the correct way to write out 29 is with a dash TWENTY-NINE... uh oh...... sorry... i'm going through virtually all of ur puzzles and i figured i might as well point out. mistakes in this one.. since i haven't seen any others so far ;)
Just one remark:
- By not giving us a limit (i.e. "below 50"), you imply the range of the whole Integers, from -INF to +INF. Your assumption is therefore dangerous, as the hypothesis "the only one that has that characteristic" is nearly impossible to prove. Remember Fermat's theorem!

I liked this one! I'm a total slacker though, and clicked 'show answer' after I wrote up to "TWENTY". he he he
Not that I'm trying to be a scrooge, but I count the number TWENTY NINE to equal 30 line segments. T=2, W=4, E=4, N=3, T=2, Y=2 (as you have it written in the answer), N=3, I=3, N=3, E=4. Therefore, 2+4+4+3+2+2+3+3+3+4=30. That is, of course, unless I'm overlooking something.
HIstorybob, I can't control the font that braingle puts up on there web site. you are almost there accept you subract 2 from the I and add one to the Y
Yay! I got it!!!!
I liked it, interesting never thought of this before. I like the original ones.
Nice try, but this really doesn't work since the hyphen in "TWENTY-NINE" is not optional.
