That is, of course, if you don’t make perpetual gutter balls like I do.
What would you need to MAKE a pin drop.
SOmeone else could be bowling and you hear it
SOmeone else could be bowling and you hear it
The answer could also be a VERY BIG PIN!!
Thats the exact same thing i thought of curly! Funny!
love it! that was a good one..and curly..your train of thought is right up my "alley"..sorry..bad pun..(or pin?)
your ears...
and for a pin to drop...
otherwise you have nothing to hear with, and nothing to hear...

Very clever! You got me, I thought the answer was your ears.
WOW-THIS ONES REALLY GREAT I WOULD HAVE NEVER GUESSED!
Nice once Kev. I'm adding this to my favorites list!
OhMyGoodness! I saw the answer and literally sat there for a full minute saying "I dont get it"
then it dawned on me and at 10 minutes to 2am... I yelled "OH!" and woke my parents up....
great job! The answer could also be: "really good hearing" as well as the previously mentioned "a big pin" and "your ears"
but I do like the original answer the best.... clever!

I was thinking that 'you need to be 20 yards over'.
I wasn't thinking bowling.
But the answer could also be 'you need to be in a bowling alley'
Thanks for the teaser!

Thanks for the teaser!
I thought you had to be near where it landed, assuming it dropped from over 20 yards above your head.
great start to the day
Wow, I'm impressed! That was really clever!
That was a good one!
lol, i got this one, but i was being sarcastic!
I didn't think of bowling... I was thinking the answer was ears. Nice 1!
What
I guess soccer players are naturally slower at getting teasers, or at least this one, cuz I did the same thing you did soccer chick! I was just sitting there thinking, WHAT???? would you like, tie the pin to the bowling ball or something?? Then I realized, ohhhhhh Duh!!!! Great teaser!!!
lol to the previous commenter! That is what my husband said when i read the teaser to him!
Fun teaser!
Fun teaser!
Heeyukkabbeeee!!!!! Now that was funny. Good one. I could not guess but had fun.
Great teaser! It was fun and very clever.
Clever was the first word to come to mind, but everyone is saying that, so I would have to say --- brilliant! This one is really cute.
That waz an AWESOME teaser!! i loved it..........i didn't
get it at first.......and it took
like,
10 min for it to register in my mind. ......................
but i loved it!
keep up the good work!

It is a sunday and my brain is not running properly i do not get it.
Actually, i didn't like it. I thought about bowling before i answered and i dismissed it because alleys are not 20yrds long.
this is an amazing teaser. i give it 4 out of 4 stars! and 2 thumbs up. what in the world caused you to think this??? anyway, you did a great job!
clever!
Very clever! I thought maybe you needed to have a lot of balloons under there the pin was being dropped - that way, you'd hear the balloons pop when the pin was dropped.
i thouhgt that because you said 'drop from 20 yards' not 'drop from 20 yards away' that you met it dropped from a height of 20 yards. i thought the answer would be 'a ladder'
This is one of those teasers that I couldn't answer, but as soon as I saw the answer, I was like 'I should of guessed that!"
Great teaser!!!
Great teaser!!!
I love it, thanks for the giggle.
i thought it was from 20 yards above, and that you needed a yardstick (to measure up to 20 yards)
i liked it. i thought for a lond time and still didnt get it eventually i wouldda got it good one
That was so funny! Ididnt figure it out
Loved it. Like the ones that make me laugh once I read the answer.
OMG!! i thuoght i t wuz big ears cuz i thought when it said pin like a safety pin loved it n reallyyyyyy cuteeeeeeeee
add 1 actully 10 of these at the end>>
I only said a pin! I'm so thick! Great teaser though!
that was a good one all i could think of was a very big pin. and my nephew and sister bowl all the time shame on me great teaser keep them coming. i might even solve one. lol
Very Clever!!!
I also went with 'a very big pin', bowling was the last thing to come to mind.
Grand little teaser. An, ahh I should have known that, catcher. Asprin, anyone?

I'm in the big pinhead club this morning! I also thought of the Museum of Science & Industry in Chicago, where their Whisper Gallery uses parabolic mirrors to focus sound across a large room (no electronics). You can hear a whisper (or a pin drop) from about 50 meters! So my second (and very nerdy) answer is a parabolic mirror. Not nearly as funny as the bowling ball! Fun teaser!
I'm afraid I too thought of a very heavy pin, and bowing pins are heavy, but I never thought of bowling pin, so I guess I didnt get it. Good job.
GOT THAT ONE!
If a 20-foot pin fell in a forest, with no one present, would you hear it? Good on you.
That was definitly one of my favorites! Funny!
I said a pin to drop from over 20 yards.
Took me 5 min. but i got it good 1!
I thought it was from 20 yards up in the air too but I also thought it was the surface it dropped on......something that would enhance the sound.
My first thought was 'bowling pin'. I'm going to tell myself that my answer is close enough to be correct. (bowling...horseshoes..)
Nice one.
Nice one.
Clever!!! Funny!!
What does that have anything to do with an animal? I really didn't like the teaser, sorry.
i thought the same ting as curly a big pin
very clever
WHATTASTITCH!!! I wish I'd looked at the category ... 'course that doesn't mean I would have gotten it, either.
I guess the word for me on this is DH!
I guess the word for me on this is DH!
I have heard this one before, and even the first time I heard it I didn't like it. It is an okay teaser, though. Many people liked it, so I'm glad it got accepted.
This one is an old one, but it is a terrifically good one! It makes you think quickly, although I used to bowl in 3 leagues a week.
Welllllllllllll...
That's a funny answer, Ha Ha. !.
But, I think there are too many possible answers for it to work right, or, for it to be Fan-Friggerator-
Tastic! The one I myself thought of was that the pin would be dropped from overhead, but my fave answer is that you would need hearing, lol!
Still, good going! Thanks!

This is such a cool teasers. I don't really agree that people think that there came be so many more answers, because this one makes perfect sense!
*teaser *can
hmmm
Tricky Kind of cute,Ya got me.
You got me too! I never even imagined along this line. Made me chuckle . Thanks.
Another person yelling the pin dropped, yuck, yuck, yuck
i keep getting fooled
Ohhhhhhhhhh!!! HAHJAH!! good one!!
Something about the pin on a grenade?
I also have to say DUH! Cute teaser tho. Good job - just made me feel kinda stupid since I have never bowled.
he he
Oh, that is so funny!
Of course, I was thinking along the lines of a bucket of water for the pin to drop into. Bowling never entered my mind. Great trick tease!

That was a good one Kev. Made me Chuckle
GROANER!
that's the first thing that came to mind when *I* read the answer.
I enjoyed that.

Good one..
First thought, 20 yards, ok, 60' divide by 3.14, as in a circle, pin would be dropped right next to your ear, guess too logical thinking?
I laughed out loud at that one!
That was a good one - had to sit back and laugh for a minute! Good Job!
lol....that was soooo....wow....i give you that one though....i was all thinkin bout science and all..gosh
Haha that's a good one!
i felt really stupid once i figured out the joke, especially since i love bowling and go as often as i can.
clever!!!
hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!! great. i didn't get it b4 i rated it. i rated it boring. but now i get it!!
You need ears and a pin. What you you don't need is the bowling ball at all -- you just need the bowling pin to fall loudly enough to hear. The ball is irrelevant.
WELL I SURE DIDNT GET THIS
Never thought of bowling pins. I had 5 other answers, but they were all lame.
Great teaser, very funny.
Great teaser, very funny.
I said the Mormon Tabernacle, because you can famously hear a small pin drop to the floor there from a distance, as they demonstrate during tours (or at least used to do).
You got me! Great job! Very fun!
I was just thinking of a really big pin.
Oh, that's a good one!
(I couldn't come up with that one)
(I couldn't come up with that one)
Ha! I've the perfect hint for this: "Was I talking about a sewing pin?"
good teaser luved it
Good one.
Wow... I guessed silence. I guessed wrong
I just guessed that the pin was being dropped from 20 yards in the air, not dropped 20 yards away from me.
Same here, drop a common pin from a height of 20 yds onto a brass cymbal or something tinny and you'd hear it easily. A crystal bowl might work as well. The official answer also relied on a word trick so these are just as legitimate.
you got me . But i was thinking that even if you cant use animal hearing sense or an electric device . you would still need an electric device or animal hearing
This was a very cute and clever teaser! Why everyone is trying to add or take away something is beyond me. It is perfect like it is. GOOD JOB!!!
My answer, which I think works as well as "a bowling ball," was, "a bowling alley."
I was among those who thought of dropping it from a height of 20 yards. Of course, the given answer is much better, and while no, a bowling lane is not 20 yards long, the alley itself would likely be at least that and even if you were on the far left lane and the only person bowling was in the far right lane (over 20 yards away) you would certainly still hear it.
As a former avid bowler (have owned my own shoes since I was 7), I should have thought of this.

Almost any high intensity telecommunications device would be correct- however bowling ball is clever.
clever teaser and funny too! for those interested, the distance from the foul line to the pin deck is 62feet 10 and 3/16 inches. which IS slightly more than 20 yards. just so's ya know, Y'know?
BTW nice to see ya'll
BTW nice to see ya'll
would a big pin work as an answer? Like a giant steel pin.
I also thought it was from 20 yards above, as there was no mention of away, and a standard bowling alley is not 20 yards long!
My answer: an open tin can.
My answer: an open tin can.
I was thinking the pin would drop from twenty yards straight up, so I would just need to be underneath it...not directly underneath, of course.
Fun and easy teaser. I got it right away.
My first thought was that you would hear it if it was a rolling pin or a bowling pin. I guess I was on the right track, but at the wrong stop.
