Cat Quirks
Logic-Grid
Logic Grid puzzles come with a handy interactive grid that will help you solve the puzzle based on the given clues.Logic-Grid
Deepsea lives with both her mother and grandmother. Even though it's a small house, each of them has room for their beloved pet cat. Like the family they live with, the cats have quirks (one likes fruit, another sneezes like a co-worker of their owners and the last likes to go outside). The cats are all of different breeds. Baby is a Calico, Fluffy is a Persian and Chico is a Tabby.
Given the clues, can you figure out which cat belongs to which person and what each cat's quirk is?
1) Fluffy will only eat cat food.
2) Only one cat is female.
3) The female cat has the youngest owner.
4) Despite the fact that the outdoor cat is the youngest, he/she has the oldest owner.
5) When it comes to the fruit eater, mangoes are his favorite.

Harder than it looks. Good job, great clues.

Good one! Nice challenge for ahort one! Thanks!
.. a short one ..
This one was hilarious for me, because I love cats and this ones clues played just like a cat: very clever!
thanks
usually i just go straight to the clues for these but i actually had to read the information before... well played
thanks harmonize
sorry...i just don't like this one... i didn't like the clues...to me they weren't written the best...maybe it's just how i read it.
dont worry its not the best its only my first and happy almost birthday
This was very cute and too hard for me to figure out. Good one.
I saw it and said this is gonna be esay when i pulled up the logic grid, I never wouldve gotten it if I hadn't looked at the hint, then i got it, great teaser keep it up!!!!!!!!
It's solvable, but the clues are unusual. I rated it easy with the hint. Without the hint it is harder but still very fast. Some people don't like the "prior knowledge" clues in logic grids, that's why you're getting the looks.
Also, that last sentence in your set-up should really be clue #1. That's what makes it easy. Some people don't read the story set ups at all unless they are really stumped.
thanks everyone i put the hint because without it it would be to triva like

maot man ni.......
I tried this two times, the first, I went straight to the clues and didn't think it was able to be solved. Then I read some of the comments (even before the hint) and realized I had to read the whole thing first (including the hint)! Very good, tricky, thoughtful, job!
awsome teaser i got it in about 15 minits so it wasent that fun but it was still more fun then boring.great teaser. (im confusin myself a little )

I thought it was well...okay. I admit anyone with an IQ above 90 could figure that 'Baby' was the female cat...but...we still had to guess it.
Yay! great teaser i got it, but i forgot that all calico cats are female (i knew that too . . . ) anyway i really liked it!
At first I did not get it, but had to read it all over again and then it struck me ! Great job!
I guess I just don't get it. I read everything, including the information and the hint and still didn't think I had enough info. What does mangoes have to do with anything??? Oh, well, I'm glad some of you had fun with it!
i said mangos are HIS favorite

I like having to think. Color resides on the X chromosome (y contains no color gene), so calicos need two X's, meaning female. Sometimes something goes awry and a cat can wind up with 3 chromosomes. ..Such as XXY. So, there are male calico cats--sort of very rare accidents. ..Did you know that if were you to clone a calico (or any other patterned cat), it would not look *exactly* like its mother? Fur pattern is caused by conditions in the womb.
ntresting sun
i knew about the male calico but i never knew about the fur pattern

Good Job Deepsea Do you really live with your mother and grandmother and three cats? We have six cats and I have always had cats several of which have been calicos, but it still took me to put together that all calicos are female. I did that w/o looking at the clue that is what kept it from being too easy. Well done!!
I caught the part where HIS favorite fruit is mangos
didn't care for this one ...
Great job, deepsea, it was great!
It wasn't a "bad" teaser, but I shouldn't need any prior knowledge to solve a puzzle. Also, the hint is required to solve it (I had one rejected because the hint was necessary). I just don't see how it made it past the editors, honestly.
Wow. I saw the grid and figured I'd solve it in a couple of minutes. Boy was I wrong. It was surprisingly challenging but very fun. The best part is that it is about cats.
baby is a starlet
Ingenious teaser. I'm not a cat person, so I didn't know what a calico is, let alone they are all female, but once I read the hint it all came together.
