Answer
Answer: Dog should be in Group 2. (Dog-Dot)Explanation (Group 2): If you replace the last letter of the word with the letter that is the same distance from the opposite end of the alphabet to it you can form a new word eg. D (fourth letter from A) would change to W (fourth letter from Z)
Example: G would be replaced with T
Words:
Hat- Hag
Swab- Sway
Fig- Fit
Hunt- Hung
Pet- Peg
Dog-Dot
Explanation (Group 1): The same as group two except the first letter is replaced instead of the last.
Words:
Bowl- Yowl
Tape- Gape
Pit- Kit
Wear- Dear

Too complicated for me.
wHaTeVeR.......that's all I have to say...
If you had changed the challenge to find one word in group one that belongs in group two and one word in group two that belongs in group one, you might have gotten a better response. In group one, "Dog" is the only word that, when the first letter is removed, does not create a new word. In group two, "Hat" is the only word that, when the first letter is removed, does create a new word. As it is, this teaser seems a bit obscure and maybe better suited for the cryptography category.
What did you say???
WOOAAH.. I don't think I get it

Everyone take a deep breath and give the guy a break! I think it was a great teaser; a bit dificult but clever. Keep up the good work!

IM SO LOST!!!!!!!!
Now that was Bloody difficult---But keep them coming--Makes my brain work--and hurt.
Interesting, I'll share this with guests over a long dinner party!
I love these teasers that are so obscure that no one in a hundred years could figure them out. This has a flaw. Pit belongs in both groups. kit, pig.
