Brain Teasers
4 Trucks
Logic-Grid
Logic Grid puzzles come with a handy interactive grid that will help you solve the puzzle based on the given clues.Logic-Grid
There were four truckers, each with a different colour truck: red, green, white and blue.
They each had a different number of drops on their run.
How long was each run, and how many drops did they have?
1) The red truck had the least number of drops.
2) The blue truck spent 20 minutes at each drop, and only drove in exactly 1 hour stints.
3) The white truck traveled 2 hours to his first drop, spent 30 minutes at each drop, then drove 2 hours home. All of his drops were one hour apart.
4) The green truck left the depot before the red truck and, after completing both of his drops, returned to find the red truck was already back.

good one , although my eyes are keep them coming enjoy a good challenge
While I normally solve logic grids this one made no sense to me. Sorry
Superb! I absolutely loved it.
it wasn't hard but i would understand why someone else wouldn't get it
Logic and Math.
What more could a girl ask for!!
Well.....maybe Cash.

I didn't get this one. I didn't like it either.
i didnt get it till i looked at the answer but it waz a nice teaser
it was ok...but i didn't get it either....oh well
I didn't think it was very hard at all, so the difficulty rating is way too high. I think it's just *different* than most logic grids, so people over-rate it. I thought it was fun. Minimal math skills required here. I liked it overall.
I have to say that I enjoyed myself there, not just the grid but having to use other parts of my brain. I wish there could be more like this.
too much math and speculation
I thought this was a great puzzle. Not extremely difficult, but not like many other logic grids where you just plug in Xs and Os. The outside calculations added to the complexity and made it more interesting. I enjoyed it!
I didn't get it, and didn't enjoy it. It wasn't bad, just not for me, sorry!
Great teaser. I only mixed up the hours of the white and green truck. I must have added the hours for the white truck wrong.
totally agree with suzieg
Allow me to explain the teaser. First off, in statement 1, we see that the red truck had the least # of drops. Therefore, it must be 1 drop. In statement 2 the green truck had completed 'both of his drops', meaning that he had completed 2 drops. Notice that all the possible run times - 5 hrs, 6 hrs, 8 hrs, and 9 hrs, are all in hour intervals. Therefore, the blue truck must've made 3 drops, because Statement 2 claims that the blue truck spent 20 min at each drop, and the only way for the 20 min. drops to add up to exactly an hour interval would be if 3 drops were made by the blue truck, adding up to 1 hour. Therefore the white truck must've made 4 drops, and by using Statement 3 we can determine the time of the run, which comes out to be 9 hrs. We can also use Statement 2 and the # of drops to determine the duration of the run of the blue truck, which comes out to 5 hrs. In Statement 4, if the green truck left before the red truck and returned after it, that means that the green truck took longer time than the red truck. Therefore, the red truck must be 6 hrs. and the green truck 8 hrs. From there the rest is easy.
This teaser was absolutely brilliant. With only 4 statements, just enough information was placed into the teaser to make it solveable. This is definitely going into my faves.

I loved it! You don't have to be math whiz, just know how to add. Very well, explained calmsavior. It wasn't overly difficult at all. I think the hardest part about it was keeping track of the # of drops while adding the time. Most excellent indeed!
Personally I liked the extra math involved in solving this one; it made my brain work.
THANKS
THANKS
dutchy, this was FANTASTIC, thanks for the unique approach.
I normally prefer the really difficult logic grids. This one wasn't really that difficult, but it was unique. The math wasn't that complicated, but made you think more than the usual greater than/less than kind of clues. Which made it more interesting, so really enjoyed it!
