How Many Trucks?
How many trucks are there on a military base?
Answer
That depends on how many flag poles there are. On a military base, the pulley on top of a flag pole is called a truck; however, a "truck" is always called a vehicle.Hide Answer Show Answer

Good, but this should be in the situation category, not trick.
o....k....
Nah, this works in the 'trick' catagory. But we did call trucks trucks on the bases I've been on.
ummmmmmm. That was a teaser?
i don't get it
Per my expierience Cars/Trucks/Jeeps are all called vehicles when speaking in "Military" language.
sorry didnt really get it. sorta seemd more like ageneral knowledge sorta thing
I guess in the Arny one has to 'keep on vehicling'.
i did not get it i dont think it was a teaser i think it was.......
there's no proper answer there only the question of if you have the knowledge of what a truck is.
ther can be a whole lot of flags on a large oversees post or very few on a small US post. This teaser has no answer and I don't see how it made it past the checkers.

The tops of flags are not called Trucks just to mention one thing wrong with this riddle. But, keep on trucken *LOL*

this sounds like trivia to me, too.
I lived on a military base, and we called trucks trucks, not vehicles, so not always. Good teaser, though.
I've always thought this was a lame teaser, I'm sure EVERYONE on a military base ALWAYS refers to them as vehicles. There's probably some guy who whacks you with a ruler if you call it a truck. Sorry, good information, a nice twist, but a lame old teaser.
I work on a military base, and they usually call trucks (that belong to the military) a GOV, meaning Government Owned Vehicle. I drive a POV, meaning Privately Owned Vehicle.
That wasn't much of a trick you know...
Good idea but I think the drafting can be improved. As it is, your first response is "you can't tell, there's no information about trucks" and then the trick answer is "you can't tell, there's no information about flagpoles". Either way you can't tell. Perhaps you could have a lot of heavy vehicles driving past the flagpole, with complicated things like "then half as many vehicles as went after lunch" etc etc, so the reader tries to work out the number, but then the answer is one because they aren't "trucks" and there was only one flagpole.
