Brain Teasers
Fire
Situation
Situation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.Situation
A man ran into a fire and lived. A man stayed where there was no fire and died. What happened?
Answer
The two men were working in a small room protected by a carbon dioxide gas fire extinguisher system, when a fire broke out in an adjoining room. One of the men ran through the fire and escaped with only minor burns. The other one stayed in the room until the fire extinguishers kicked in and died of oxygen starvation.Hide Answer Show Answer

Or maybe the first ran into a birthday cake that had candels lit and the other died of starvation?
Not enough info.
Lilman, that's why it's a situation puzzle!
I sorta got half way there - about the man escaping, but I thought the man surrounded by fire would inhale too much smoke. Good one.
Surely "ran through the fire" is not the same as "ran into a fire". Ran through implies ran out of the fire so his escape is then obvious.
Very interesting. I hadn't thought of that before. However, your wording is a little off. He didn't run "into" the fire.
he did run into the fire - he just ran out of it again
I was thinking a firefighter went into a fire and lived, but then he got lost in the Arctic and died of hypothermia. *shrug* Hey, whatever works.
