Very clever

without dot thickness, this wouldnt be possible.
good1
I've seen this one before.... but never the answer!! Love it!!
dont see how you got an image onto braingle!
Surely you could also use a very thick leaded pencil, such that the pencil-drawn line simultanouesly touched the sides of two dots from neighbouring rows.
Interesting solution. I have heard of this one, but never knew the answer. It never occurred to me to make the spots thicker.
You can do it in 1 line. just use a really thick line!
i liked it!
tricky
whoa thats awesome!
How did you get the dots on here???
Oh, I just realized it's Jake's teaser, and his website, and he can do whatever he wants.
liked it...guess that is what you would call "thinking outside the box"
That's neat. Nice one.
a kid in my math class challenged the teacher to this puzzle at the begining of the school year. he said that if she didn't figure it out, she had to give him extra credit points. after a few days, she told him that she had the answer at home, but had forgotten it! i don't know if he ever got the extra credit, but its not like he needed it!
Cool
I thought you would draw either 3 separate lines and then draw curvy lines (they're not straight) to connect them, or would just draw a huge curvy line.
Not my favorite one, sorry. Seen it too often.

I was thinking of drawing a really thick line after reading the hint... but that was really good!
i never thought of that way
That's literally thinking outside the square! Very good. Thanks.
Think out of the box, very nice
irar1792-are you sure the challenge to your teacher wasn't using 4 lines? It is a more common way to demonstrate "thinking outside the box".
purdy good
Sarcastic... gotta love it, but I still like the version I submitted better!
Ummmm hello... we're not using pencils... we're using computer mice!!!
I like teasers like these. Even though I can never solve them.
just lookin' at my computer screen this was kinda hard. your hint gave it away, otherwise... ??

a piece of cake.....ive seen it na kase.....
Clever way to get me, once again, Jake. Keep them coming!!
LOL I was working on this elaborate way. I forgot, TRICK
good one
I liked it! I remembered seeing that one before, though, so I got it. But the first time I was stumped, so good job!
I liked it, but my confusion was over wether this was a trick or not...
I'm sorry, but I don't like it much at all.
seen it before but never had a solution til now. I think it was ok.
this is soooooooooooo boring and easy. get some new ones. no offense to the person that sent it in...just...get some new ones.
sorry to say but i do not like it
This particular teaser was always easy, if you could catch the trick. This is an interesting teaser, and it is brought out in good taste. Keep up the great work.
I liked it! I have just drawn it out to trick my boyfriend with when he comes home!
Well, sorry to say but diagrams're never to scale!
well done
I have seen it many times but still a classic
Thanks

sorry, NOT all of the dots were connected. Just the ones with the lines through them
You should put 3 straight connected lines, because you could just put 3 horizantal/vertical lines.
But great, none the less.
But great, none the less.
enderofgames...the teaser says yuo can't lift your pencil, so three horizontal lines will not work.
I'm with others that say the three line answer is cheating in that the real puzzle of this type uses 4 lines, this version cheats on the definition of a "point"

you could just make one line, or keep the pencil in the same spot, and have someone else move the paper, lol
would't you need to pick up your pencil just to get started? I know Iknow we're on computers...... but still
hee hee, my brother showed me that before. Still good though...
There's also another answer. If this wasn't on the computer I would show you...
Haha I liked this one... my teacher showed it to us in my accelerated 3rd grade class

I had found this out. My dad showed me, and then I felt stupid. I would have never guessed it!
I would not lift my pencil at all but use a pen
Good teaser - old as the hills though.

Those can't be straight lines by any mean!
